The Titans Led by 2014 Big West Player of the Year and third team All-American Missy Taukeiaho, the Cal State Fullerton softball team was picked to finish second in the Big West Conference in 2015 as selected by the eight head coaches in the annual preseason poll. Join us today on Women Leading the Way Radio as your host of Business IS Personal, Shawn Mari Turi, interviews Charlesetta Medina, directing manager of the Small Business Institute at Cal State Fullerton.
We will be discussing “How to find a mentor and why finding the right one is game changer” and we’ll address why so many professionals (both entrepreneurs and executives) say they want a ‘different result’ and they want ‘support’ but they seem to resist what it would take to make that happen. Getting a “mentor” is a game changer… so why don’t more people do it?
We’ll tackle that Q and SO much more!!
Shawn Marie Turi is your host of Business IS Personal: (What you do and WHY you do it… MATTERS!), a show focused on interviewing remarkable professional women and entrepreneurs who are doing what they love, kicking ass and believe that ‘Business IS (in fact) Personal’…and what we do, how we do it, and most importantly, why we do it really does matter!

Viki Winterton interviews Renée Mollan-Masters!
Renée has a Master’s Degree in Speech Pathology from California State University, Fullerton. Applying research was always her forte, and it’s something that she has been acknowledged with – she was awarded Outstanding Senior Clinician during her senior year.
She developed a reading perception lab when she worked as a speech pathologist for the Fountain Valley School District. This then became the model program for the state of California. Renée then embarked on a private practice in speech pathology for years.
In 1980, she wrote Yes They Can – a handbook for effectively parenting disabled children.
Renée got the idea for You Are Smarter Than You Think when she was producing a parenting show for PBS. It was during this time she discovered the research done by Dr. Howard Gardner of Harvard University. While lecturing at a local college, she shared this information with her students and asked them to try it out. Students came back the next day speaking in high volumes about the process. From there, You Are Smarter Than You Think was born.
In 1992, You Are Smarter Than You Think – the book – was published. The learning system is being used in many colleges and universities all over the country and the aim of the program is to make education a much worthwhile experience for students everywhere.
We are privileged to have on Hank Tran, who will give us the inside scoop for the CSUF Titans baseball season that just began. Who are the players to watch out for? Will the Titans compete for another College World Series title? Listen for all that and to find out a statistic that separates Cal State Fullerton baseball from all other major spectator sports teams in southern California. Also, we will discuss the takeaways from NBA All Star 2015 weekend and also why game MVP Russell Westbrook and former media darling, Kevin Durant, will never win a championship together.
Tonight is going to be a very special episode. We will be talking with Larry Houser from the Fullerton Cares Autism Organization. This is a great and well run group dedicated to the Awareness, Acceptance, & Action for Autism.
Fullerton Cares was founded in efforts to raise money, awareness and acceptance for autism in the Fullerton community. The main beneficiary being the autism and special needs programs in the Fullerton School District.
Larry Houser founded Fullerton Cares Autism Coalition following the autism diagnosis of his son Boyd, with the goal of creating opportunities for autism awareness, acceptance, and action. In collaboration with the community, Houser has dedicated his life to autism through Fullerton Cares through events including the sold-out Comedy Shows for Autism, and Mardi Gras for Autism. Houser is deeply supportive of Fullerton School District autism programs at local elementary schools, and supports national autism organizations that advocated for families affected by autism. He believes that we must create inclusion for our children with autism and that through working together and pursuing every possible avenue we can do something incredible for children of all abilities.
TUNE in for what sure should be a great show!
