Today is going to be another great show, with our first two guests, Ryan J. Kaplan and Rachel Werth, who are co-writers and directors of the upcoming LGBT Feature Film, "RainBRO." I am excited to talk to them about this incredibly funny movie about a bully who accidentally gets sent to "gay reform camp" over summer.
Next we have Michael Hennessey, who has an incredible life story, from his early advocacy for HIV/AIDS, to his long-time love and work in the entertainment industry, to his spiritual practice as a Reiki master. Don't miss this show!!

For me, just the mention of Cindy Abbott, turns me into a bit of a giddy fan. Understand that it isn't entirely that she is one in 40 women in the USA to have ever summitted Mount Everest, or that she finished the Iditarod on her third try, taking the Red Lantern. It isn't even really that she is the only woman to do both of these things. You see, she has a rare disease called Wegener's granulomatosis, and it was during training for her Everest climb that she was finally diagnosed after 14 years of fighting an enemy with no name.
So, what do you do when you are told you've got a rare and incurable disease? Well, according to Cindy, whether you ascend 29,029 feet on Everest, or you take a team of dogs and do 1049 miles to Nome, you just DO IT. Cindy made the decision to FIGHT. And fight she did. She decided to advocate and educate for NORD, or the National Organization for Rare Disorders, run the "Greatest Race on Earth," climb that rather big hill and continue to be a professor at California State at Fullerton.
There is a film about her that is finally finished after four long years in production that will be appearing in festivals this year, called Banner on the Moon. That banner of course is her NORD banner which she takes with her everywhere, and quite frankly, the moon would have to be the next stop for this lady.
On a personal note, and why I am so very passionate about speaking with her, is that I too battle a disease. Cindy has been a personal hero to me. So having this opportunity to talk sled dogs and how they've been a positive influence on her, as they have me, will be a highlight of my life. And I do hope that no matter who you are and what you do with dogs, that you too will find this amazing woman to be a source of inspiration unbound, and an example of the strength we all have hidden inside us, waiting for our dogs to show us where to find it.
We are honored to have as our guest this morning, Assemblyman David Hadley.
David was elected to represent the 66th Assembly District (the South Bay) in November 2014.
Born and raised in Fullerton, he attended Servite High School in Anaheim. David completed his Bachelor’s degree at Dartmouth College and his Master’s degree at the London School of Economics.
David and his wife Suzanne have been married for over 22 years and they are the proud parents of four children. Their 20-year-old son, Jack, is a cadet at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. Their three daughters are Claire (17), Ellen (15), and Faith (13) are students at Mira Costa High School, and Manhattan Beach Middle School.
Sixteen years ago David founded Hadley Partners, Incorporated, a financial advisory firm that specializes in representing entrepreneurial and family-owned businesses in the financing or sale of their companies. Since its founding, HPi has advised well over 100 businesses, and has helped some of those businesses create thousands of new jobs as well as new products and services.
This morning, we’re going to catch up with what Assemblyman Hadley has been doing since the election and we’re going to hear what he has planned going forward.

We have a great group of people calling in to the Left of Str8 Show today, and I am so excited to be talking to each of them. The Left of Str8 Show strives to bring you some of the best Entertainment, Foodie, and Author Interviews for our LGBT Community and the many Allies that support us. In between we talk a little about what's going on in the LGBT News and the trials and tribulations of your host, Scott Fullerton, currently banished to NE Ohio.
My first guest is one of my favorite people to watch and listen to, he is an actor, a producer, a radio host, a video pop culture analizer, and much more. He is a regular on the hugely popular BRAVO tv series, "The Peoples Couch," as well as one of the stars of LGBT film favorite, "Southern Baptist Sissies, and can be heard just about every week on the hugely popular UBN Internet Radio Show, "The Del & Emerson Show."
Next up is my interview with the owner of Sassy's Cafe and Bakery in Mesa, Arizona, she is also a contestant on the very popular Food Network Channel's competition show, "The Holiday Baking Championship." She is famous for her fantastic Cinnamon Rolls, Brownies, and Sugar Cookies, and has baked pastries for actor Kevin Kline and a birthday cake for Snoop Dog, how's that for street cred! I am so happy to have Melody Larsen on the show.
My final guest today, Kevin Hogan, was the victim of ambush journalism, while shopping with his wife, for some of his former work when he was younger and made some money in the gay industry. Openly bisexual with his family already, he none-the-less suffered some severe depression and trauma over the ambush, but has made a remarkable comeback, and created a fantastic organization, "Healing Stigma," as well as put a lot of his thoughts into some beautiful poetry with his new book of poems that have just been published.
Today's Left of Str8 Show is LIVE after a two week break with three fantastic guests. You can catch the Left of Str8 Show on Blog Talk Radio every Tuesday from 5-7pm EST / 2-4pm PST. Your host, Scott Fullerton discusses issues that affect our LGBT Community and Allies, along with interviews from some fantastic guests from the world of Entertainment, Foodies, and Books.
My first guest today is Singer/Prodocer/Entertainer, Trevor Page. Born in a small town in Florida, and now living his dreams creating and producing music in Southern California, Trevor has a new album out, "Oligarchy," and is here to talk about it, his life growing up in small town Florida as a biracial youth and discovering that he is part of the LGBT Community. You can listen to his new music all over and follow him on social media and thru his website.
Jason Dottley is another hugely talented and multi-faceted entertainer who is an actor, singer, comedian, and producer, who has just wrapped a 40 city tour with his one-man comedy show, "Life On The gAy List," as well as just putting out a World Record Breaking Music Video. Jason is sure to bring the funny, and the juicy, as well as talk about what it takes to be a top 25 Billboard Entertainer.
My final guest today is currently competing on the Food Network's, "Holiday Baking Championship," on Sunday evenings, and has quite a story himself, being a Broadway dancer for many years, before entering pastry school, and now owning his own Bed and Breakfast Inn. I am so excited to bring Steve Konopelski on the show to talk about his amazing past, his exciting present, and what the future holds for him.
