More people are moving out of New Jersey than are moving in. The same is true for Illinois and New York. Those three states top the “outbound” list compiled by United Van Lines, the big St. Louis-based moving company that has put together an annual survey of where Americans are moving for the last 37 years. The company analyzed a total of 125,000 moves across the 48 continental states and the District of Columbia in 2013 and came up with a picture of migration patterns across the U.S. According to Professor Michael Stoll, chair of the Department of Public Policy at the UNOC, and a consultant to United Van Lines who studies American migration, the moves reflect long-term shifts in the U.S. economy and the hit to employment in many states resulting from the slow recovery.
Of the top nine states where more people moved out than moved in, four are in the Northeast: In addition to New Jersey and New York, Connecticut (No. 5) and Massachusetts (No. 8) make the list. The list also reflects Americans’ desire to leave the frigid states in the north for warmer climes. “Over the last 20-30 years there has been a general shift of the population from the Midwest and Northeast to the South and West, which we think of as a move from the frost belt to the sun belt,” says Stoll. New Jersey has been stuck at the top of the outbound list for three of the past four years. Some 64% more people moved out than moved in. According to Stoll, Great Recession hit the state especially hard, accelerating a longtime shift of manufacturing to the southern states, away from the Northeast. “New Jersey has been reliant for many decades on manufacturing and industry.
Many people walk by homeless people without so much as a glance. Others look on believing it could never happen to them. Nothing could be further from the truth.
Talkupy with Annie Lindstrom welcomes artist William "Emor" Askew Jr. to the show to discuss his Cardboard Auctions Project to raise awareness about homelessness and funds for the homeless and organizations that help them on Sunday, August 3 at 8 p.m. Eastern Time.
Artist Emor's project began in January 2014 on the frigid streets of New York City where he spent time meeting and sketching, drawing and painting portraits on pieces of cardboard of people living on the streets. He is returning to NYC this week to continue his work.

Joe De Sena’s Spartan Race Transforms Lives
It’s 5 a.m. on a frigid winter’s morning in Central Vermont. A lone, solitary figure dressed in a sweatshirt, low hikers, and warm-ups leaves a farmhouse and heads out into the backyard, which in this case, happens to be the base of a heavily wooded 3,000-ft. hill in the Green Mountains. A wool cap is seated down tight on his head, along with a headlamp, the only illumination around for miles that early in the morning. While the rest of the Eastern Time Zone remains in deep slumber, Joe De Sena, 44, founder of the Spartan Race series, begins his day with an intense vertical workout.

This story begins in a small town of upstate New York where a breeder was keeping dogs outside in sub zero weather conditions with very little shelter, a public outcry for these dogs to be taken out of the frigid cold and demands for criminal charges, to finally ending in the seizure of all the dogs and criminal charges pending. Eric Bellows was involved in this story from the very begining and will join us to share how this story progressed, how public pressure saved these dogs, and how we can prevent something like this from happening again.Matt Albert, from Lexus, the attorney working on the case will also be joining us

Blessed is Our Creator!!! Blessed Souls we plan to broadcast today 2/2/14 beginning at 11:00 am EST live from Turtle Island=AKA=the USA=Uniting Souls Actually. During our 1/26/14 broadcast we emphasized the topic of rain as it appears in Torah Scripture/Written Tradition and via the Oral Torah Tradition. I don't think we even scratched the surface of the tip of this topic larger than any iceberg positioned in the frigid waters of the North or South Pole. Therefore, we intend to share some more information on this matter along with our normal food for thought featuring the Rambam. Chabad/Breslov Chassidus and whatever can transpire when human souls in human bodies engage in a type of talk which will empower another person to walk in the path of serving Creator, being in fellowship with others and making this world more sustainable!!! This program featured International Musician Joseph Israel calling in live from Ukiah, California to discuss the current situation in Northern California. As well, Joseph talked in brief about a special event to take place on 02/06/14 on Facebook. Also appearing was Thomas Eason of Arkansas who chimed in his wise and calm thoughts. As usual our other Co-Host was Teacher/Student and Activist for the dissemination of the Torah Teachings of Rambam-aka the Nesher HaGadol=The Great Eagle. Meanwhile, may the Most High Bless you and your loved ones in a peaceful and pleasant manner!!!

Call in number: (347) 838-8131 This show will explain the polar vortex (also known as a polar cyclone, polar low, frigid twister, or a circumpolar whirl ) It is a persistent, large-scale cyclone located near either of a planet's geographical poles. On Earth, the polar vortices are located in the middle and upper troposphere and the stratosphere. They surround the polar highs and lie in the wake of the polar front. These cold-core low-pressure areas strengthen in the winter and weaken in the summer due to their reliance upon the temperature differential between the equator and the poles. They usually span less than 1,000 kilometers (620 miles) in which the air is circulating in a counter-clockwise fashion (in the northern hemisphere). As with other cyclones, their rotation is caused by the Coriolis effect.
The Arctic vortex in the Northern Hemisphere has two centres, one near Baffin Island and the other over northeast Siberia. In the southern hemisphere, it tends to be located near the edge of the Ross ice shelf near 160 west longitude. When the polar vortex is strong, the Westerlies increase in strength. When the polar cyclone is weak, the general flow pattern across mid-latitudes buckles and significant cold outbreaks occur. Ozone depletion occurs within the polar vortex, particularly over the Southern Hemisphere, which reaches a maximum in the spring. The polar vortex phenomenon was described as early as 1853.
Polar cyclones are climatological features that hover near the poles year-round. Since polar vortices exist from the stratosphere downward into the mid-troposphere, a variety of heights/pressure levels within the atmosphere can be checked for its existence.
We are less then a week away from the biggest game of the year. We have the best offensive team in the Denver Broncos and the best defensive team in the Seattle Seahawks. Both teams are used to playing in frigid conditions, and this year we will be witnesses to something new as the Super Bowl will be played at Met Life stadium, home of the New York Giants and Jets.
Peyton Manning looks to win his second ever Super Bowl while third year player Russell Wilson looks to bring a championship to Seattle. We will get to see the Richard Sherman and the LOB take on Manning and his many of offensive weapons. For the Seattle offense, will Marshawn Lynch be able to carry the load and can Wilson step up and make the big plays? For the Broncos, who will step up and put pressure on Wilson with the absence of Von Miller?
Brian and Joe will preview the game, talk about Manning and his legacy, whether or not he will choke and so much more. We already have some callers lined up, but feel free to give them a call with your prediction for Sunday and who will be an X-factor Sunday night.
