This week, Rock and Spectre are joined by Tabitha, a subject matter expert on the environmental crisis known as fracking, to learn about what fracking is, how it could affect us all, and what we, as everyday citizens, can do to prevent it.
Tune in to learn how we can help keep our world a cleaner and safer place!
About this week's guest:
Tabitha Tripp, a life long Illinois resident, has been a tenacious volunteer and environmental advocate for the last four years. She became engaged in the fracking issue after learning about risks to water supplies and the devastation the industry causes to rural communities.
She is a board member with the grassroots fracking organization SAFE, Southern Illinoisans Against Fracturing our Environment. She is the founder of Shawnee Sentinels, a group formed with for the distinct need of training citizens non violent direct action and civil disobedience to protect the communities near and around the Shawnee National Forest from extraction issues. Most recently she was elected as Co-chair of Heartwood Forest Council, a 17 state organization that protects the Eastern Hardwood forest.
For fun, she is painter, poet, mom, and loves to cook. She lives in unincorporated Union County, IL with her two children and partner on a fourth generation family farm, where their only source of water is a deep well.

There may be no other topic as confidential as fracking. Why? We are Americans and we love cheap energy. Its easy to turn a blind eye to reality when our material lifestyle is benefit 10 fold through this innovative process. If we can have cheap energy harvested here in the states then that frees up money for vacations, trips, college, so on so forth. Of course nothing in this life comes without consequence. The problem is the general public is on the fence about just what that consequence is. Will we all be dead or filled with malignant tumors in 20 years because of our greed for cheap fuel? Or is this hydraulic fracturing in its early stages and the contamination and risk we have heard of is simply a one off? What does a one off mean to you? A lot if your water source is the one off.

Chemtrails are aerosols sprayed in our skies for “geoengineering”. This has occurred for nearly 20 years with an unpublicized cover story of combating global warming, but a secret agenda of weather manipulation, poisoning people, reduced intelligence, pandemic, etc. Fracking is hydraulic fracturing to crack underground rock for harvesting oil and natural gas, sometimes contaminating ground water. It can also generate earthquakes.
It is crucial to learn how to protect ourselves as best we can while organizing to get these harmful activities stopped. Local referendums or initiatives are being included on election ballots in various cities by gathering signatures and submitting a petition. This ban can also include an injection well, which is pure dumping of toxic waste into the ground. Other common public poisons, such as fluoride in city water, chemtrail spraying or GMOs could be banned similarly.
NYS Senator Tony Avella talks about a ban against fracking waste being imported into New York State from Pennsylania
We kick around the words, green living, renewable energy, fracking, carbon emissions, marine rewable energy, responsible consumerism and fossil fuels. But do we really know what they are, what they do and how they affect us and the environment?
Join me on Monday when we define these words and phrases, an examine what they are, how they work, their costs and what benefits or disadvantages we and the environment face.
