North Florida Writer Live "Short Take 2": Imagine...........

    in Lifestyle

TONIGHT'S SHORT TAKE WILL BE DEVOTED TO FATHERS AND SONS.  IN TODAY'S CRAZY WORLD, IT'S EASY FOR DAD TO GET WRAPPED UP IN WORK AND THEIR OWN EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES WITH THE RESULT BEING A YOUNG BOY FEELING LEFT OUT.  HAVING LOST MY DAD AT AN EARLY AGE, I KNOW VERY WELL WHAT NOT HAVING A FATHER CAN FEEL LIKE ALTHOUGH I WAS VERY BLESSED TO HAVE A VERY SPECIAL MOTHER.  SO LET'S IMAGINE FOR A FEW MOMENTS..........IMAGINE HOW MUCH BETTER LIFE CAN BE FOR BOTH FATHERS AND SONS WHEN THEY SHARE LIFE TOGETHER.  AND IMAGINE WHAT THOSE WHO DON'T ARE FEELING.

AMERICA HAS FAR TOO MANY FAMILIES WITHOUT A FATHER, NOT THROUGH DEATH OR DISASTER, BUT THROUGH SELFISHNESS AND LACK OF RESPONSIBILITY.  IMAGINE IF WE CAN CHANGE THAT: IMAGINE WHAT A BETTER PLACE IT CAN BE.

    SEE YOU TONIGHT AT NINE.

Foreclosures experience shrinkage when they are placed in cold water also

    in Business

The Santa Clarita Valley numbers today with regard to foreclosures are down quite a bit from back in 2009 through 2013. In fact today we have 29 toll on market foreclosures that are in some type of status. One of the statuses is active, another back up, and another pending. So this is showing you that we have reduced within the foreclosure inventory here in The Santa Clarita Valley cities. With regard to the off market foreclosure listing Santa Clarita valley is currently showing 282 of those types of properties. These are properties that are not in the market for sale and consist of bank owned properties, properties going to auction, bank owned properties, and those that of been sold to a third.

    Florida Lupine Association: Rendezvous 2015

    in Education

On this episode of Wolfdog Radio, we will cover the 16th annual Florida Lupine Association 2015 Rendezvous! The Florida Lupine Association (FLA) is the only wolf/wolfdog organization in the United States, and possibly the world. FLA’s mission is to provide information and education about the wolfdog; to track legal issues as they pertain to wolfdogs; to interact and collaborate with other wolfdog and animal (rescue and non-rescue) agencies, networks, and clubs; and to advance the interests and the responsible ownership of wolfdogs.

Every year, FLA hosts what is known as the "Rendezvous" where wolfdog owners, breeders, and enthusiasts come from all over the country to attend the Rendezvous for the unique opportunity to interact with other wolfdog people and their animals. With our special guests, we will explore the major events that took place the major events that took place over this exciting weekend, provide answers to some of the most common questions, and get a deeper look into what goes on behind the scenes at the Rendezvous.

Some of our guests and topics include: Jody Haynes, President of FLA; Kim Miles, Co-Education and Member Coordinator, who will speak on the phenotyping presentation and share details about the dog show, how each of the categories are judged and weighted; two first-time dog show judges, Natasha Woodall and Megan Lindsey; owner of the grand prize winner of the dog show, Kim Kapes, President of wolfdog sanctuary In Harmony With Nature; highlights from the auction; and a few members within community will also join us to share their experiences at the Rendezvous this year.? JUST SAY NO TO COMMON CORE WITH GUEST MEG NORRIS

    in Lifestyle

COMMON CORE IS SWEEPING THE COUNTRY, LARGELY BY EDICT FROM SPECIAL INTEREST GROUPS AND THEIR POLITICAL CRONIES.  BUT BLOWBACK IS GAINING STEAM AS MORE AND MORE PARENTS LOOK AT THE PROGRAM AND ITS CURRICULUM AND FIND IT WANTING.  SO WHAT IS BEST FOR OUR KIDS AND WHAT CAN WE DO TO MAKE SURE THEIR BEST INTERESTS ARE WHAT IS DONE?

WE ARE PLEASED TO HAVE MEG NORRIS OF GEORGIA AS OUR GUEST TONIGHT ON NORTH FLORIDA WRITER LIVE. MEG IS A GEORGIA CERTIFIED TEACHER WHO LEFT HER PROFESSION AFTER WATCHING THE FRUSTRATION OF HER CONFUSED SEVENTH GRADE STUDENTS WITH THE COMMON CORE CURRICULUM.  SHE JUST REALIZED THAT THIS WAS NOT THE ANSWER TO IMPROVING EDUCATION AND HAS SINCE COMMITTED HERSELF TO AN ACTIVIST ROLE IN STOPPING THIS CORPORATE TAKEOVER OF EDUCATION.

MEG IS TIRELESS;  FOUNDED SEVERAL FACEBOOK SITES FOR THE CAUSE INCLUDING OPT OUT GEORGIA AND GEORGIANS TO STOP COMMON CORE. SHE IS ALSO A CANDIDATE FOR A DOCTORATE IN EDUCATION AND TRAVELS EXTENSIVELY TO FIGHT THE BATTLE NOT JUST IN GEORGIA BUT AROUND THE NATION.  SHE ALSO IS A FIRM BELIEVER IN CLASSICAL EDUCATION WITH THE NEED FOR A STUDENT TO TAKE NOTES, WRITE IN CURSIVE, AND READ REAL BOOKS (NOT JUST COMPUTER SCREENS), AND USE PAPER, PENCIL AND CRAYONS.  YOUNG BRAINS NEED HANDS ON PRACTICALITY TO LEARN.

IF YOU HAVE CONCERNS ABOUT COMMON CORE, AND YOU SHOULD, THE DISCUSSION SHOULD BE VALUABLE FOR PARENTS AND TAXPAYERS ALIKE.  IF IT GOES THROUGH AS THE POLITICAL ELITES WOULD LIKE, WE'LL ALL PAY THE PRICE.

A Conversation With Florida State Rep., Ed Narain, District 61

    in Current Events

Join us on Friday, May 8, 2015 at 5:00 p.m. for the next edition of our podcast, America's Community Voices Network, onBLOGTALKRADIO.COM, with our special guest the newly elected representative for the Florida State House of Representatives, District 61, Mr. Edwin Narain. Since his election to office during the last election cycle, the freshmen democrat has made his debut in the Florida State House with great distinction. He was the first freshman ever elected to lead theminority caucus (unprecedented) and he was the chief sponsor of a bill that was passed into law to provide critical training to police officers to recognize the symptoms of a diabetic episode. Known as "The Arthur Green Act," this critical bill was sponsored my Rep. Narain after Mr. Green's untimely during a traffic stop in which he was suffering a hypoglycemic episode. The police officers, through no fault of their own, did not recognize the symptoms and attempted to arrest Mr. Green for erratic and DUI driving. Mr. Green collapsed and died in what was at the least a highly preventable death.
