Sensory and Motor Neuropathies
This week on Beating Neuropathy and Chronic Pain, we're talking about Sensory vs. Motor Neuropathies. There are actually many different kinds of neuropathy. Because everyone is biochemically and genetically different, people who develop neuropathy may develop it in different ways. Neuropathy can be the result of genetics, disease, or injury. Sensory neuropathies affect the ability to perceive with any of the senses. Most commonly, this presents as tingling or numbness. Motor neuropathies involve muscle weakness and loss of muscle tone. Sensory neuropathies, which can often be the result of the effects of diabetes or chemotherapy, are more easily treatable. Motor neuropathies are generally much more difficult to treat and can be the result of a genetic condition such as Charcot Marie Tooth (CMT). CMT symptoms include weakness in the legs and feet. There are several types of CMT, and they can vary in severity and age of onset. CMT can be diagnosed with EMGs and CMVs; genetic testing can be extremely expensive and not covered by insurance. However, even if a diagnosis is definitively made, treatment can be difficult. Nutritional supplements and energy-enhancing treatments, however, have shown promise for CMT patients. Riding the Cycles of Our Horoscope
Join us this Wednesday, May the 15th, at 1 PM MDT for an extraordinary show about horoscopes and their shapes, forms, and colors with our guest, Matthew James of Sedona, AZ. Matthew is a Certified Shamanic Astrologer, Licensed Massage Therapist specializing in Thai Massage, and a member of the Executive Council of the Shamanic Astrology Mystery School.
Matthew will share his expertise and answer questions about Shamanic Astrology and the value it provides to each of us. More specifically, Matthew will be discussing the cycles of the inner planets and how they relate to our natal horoscope and our own maturation-- a practice that sets Shamanic Astrology apart from many other astrological studies.
A horoscope is an astrological chart or diagram displaying the positions of the Sun, Moon, and planets relative to the Earth and each other at the time of an event, such as the moment of a person's birth. In addition to being a map of the sky, the horoscope represents the energetic imprint of that moment and anything born of it. The word horoscope is derived from Greek words meaning "a look at the hours." Although time is an illusion, our experience is that timing is everything. There are no coincidences, only well formed circles that make sense but within the realm of Great Mystery.
The stars have been our guides for centuries. Please join us in honoring their wisdom by carrying it forward.
The question is: “How can we harness the wisdom of the horoscope to keep the balance in our inner and outer personal circle?” Join the conversation on facebook.

Poverty Sunday: Change Community Cycles
My hope on this Poverty Sunday morning is that those who listen to this show will open their hearts and minds to taking action to end poverty. We all must stay on elected officials to put Americans back to work. America has over 20 million companies. A full workforce is 160 million workers. There are too many people willingly waiting for job creators to create jobs. All that need to happen is for 10 million managers, business owners, and CEOs to hire about 25 million people and elected officials to re-hire laid off government workers, and job seekers to take to the streets with resumes in hand. The only way to ends poverty is a full workforce. The only way to change community cycles is with jobs with livable wages; civic minded candidates, voting citizens, and ending acceptance of job creator lies from politicians.
