    De Helende Kracht van Familierelaties

    in Spirituality

Welke incarnatievraag was daarbij leidend?

    in Self Help

Listen live today at 12:30 PM EST!

CDD (Compassionate Deficit Disorder) is one of the many disorders coined by Dr. Diane Levin to describe the effects of children spending time in front of a screen, whether it be a computer, TV, iPad, mobile phone, Xbox or other electronic device. Professor Levin has been studying this troubling problem for 30 years with little support from those with the authority and resources to join her cause, not to mention corporate America and the Media who have a huge economic investment in selling electronic devices and toys (with or without screens) to young children.

Dr. Levin will help us make sense of how a "Remote Controlled Childhood" (title of Professor Levin's latest book) is putting the healthy development of our young people at risk.

Queen Afi - The DVWMT Movement

    in Self Help

DVWMT Mission is so vast but overall because DVWMT doesn't single out individuals from getting help.  Their job is to bring awareness, educate, and action to the communities all across the world on abuse.
DVWMT teaches VERBAL ABUSE IS THE #1 KILLER and that abuse needs to be looked at from that angle. Verbal abuse leads to physical abuse in many cases.  So, if people would think before they react, effective communication can end abuse.
DVWMT looks at abuse as a whole which means women, men, and teens can both be victims and abusers, getting to the root (household: what did we see or what we're taught as children), teaching the amygdala to reason, and giving tools for positive behavior, will end DV.
As a Criminal Justice major and now a Mental Health Professional/Student/Masters Program it is important for Queen Afi to have a plan of action and not dwell so much on the negative but instead give positive tools for people to change the amygdala (which is a portion of the brain that reacts to danger, but only in severe conditions such as a terrorist attacks, gun point, and not for an argument) and the way people respond to conflict.

How You Can Help to Prevent Bullying

    in Parents

Survivor, expert and activist Jodee Blanco is one of the country’s pre-eminent voices on the subject of school bullying. She is the author of The New York Times bestseller, Please Stop Laughing At Me . . . One Woman’s Inspirational Story, a chronicle of her years as the student outcast.
Jodee Blanco’s understanding of why kids abuse other kids comes from a deep personal place. From fifth grade through the end of high school, she was rejected and tormented by her peers simply for being different. As an adult, she decided to go public with her story as a way of shedding light on this social problem.

Blanco’s work has been published in Japanese, Danish and Arabic. She lives in the suburbs of Chicago. For more information on Blanco and how to bring her to your school or community to share her story live, visit her website at www.jodeeblanco.com.
