When the Fairytale Ends -- Write Stuff -- 3/10/2015

    in Radio

I love fairy tales. As a kid I enjoyed reading them for hours on end. I have a collection of Grimm's fairy tales I read off and on. Through all kinds of trials, setbacks, and hardships, the hero prince winds up with the princess. The evil witch or orge is destroyed. The parents are reunited with their stolen children. The curse is lifted. Happily ever after all the way around.

As a child I wanted the fairy tale ending. After all, they always end of a good note. However we all know that life rarely has a chance to give us happily ever after. In a society increasingly searching for the fairy tale ending, it's coming up short. And the disappointments that come that often causes us to have a harsh outlook on life.

On this episode of the Write Stuff join me as I discuss with author Raven Price what happens when the fairy tale ends. You can call in at 646-595-2083, press 1 to be live on air. Or, you can download the WLUV radio mobile app today.

"Between Shifts" was a semifinalist in the 2014 BlueCat Screenplay Competition: "Poignant, taut and funny, this is a rewarding read, and has the potential to be a film festival audience favorite."

Colleen Coble debuts The Inn at Ocean's Edge

    in Lifestyle

Finding the love of family in unexpected places

Award-winning author weaves mystery that reminds readers of the bonds that go beyond blood ties

Seattle: God promises in Psalm 68:6 He will place the lonely in families, and in The Inn at Ocean’s Edge (Thomas Nelson/April 14, 2015/ISBN: 978-1401690267/$15.99), author Colleen Coble paints a picture for readers of how comfort, acceptance and love can come from the most surprising sources and in the most dire of circumstances. In the first installment in the new Sunset Cove series, Coble introduces us to Claire Dellamore, who — at first glance — seems to have lived an idyllic life. Even to Claire, her childhood seemed like a fairytale, but a business trip to Sunset Cove turns her world upside down.

The minute she steps inside the grand Inn at Ocean’s Edge, Claire Dellamare knows something terrible happened there.

Simran Singh Your journey to love

    in Christianity

Greetings to all God's people I am truly blessed that you have decided to support the ministry. Every week I like to bring something new to the platform which will inspire all women. My guest tonight is no other than Simran Singh.Every person desires to find that "ultimate soul mate." According to the U.S. census, there are 100 million active singles in the United States alone. Each one of them is seeking their true soul mate. Because of heartbreak, pain, loneliness, or a need to feel complete, even those who are in a relationship wonder, from time to time, if an ultimate soul mate exists beyond their current experience.

A grand awakening is on the cusp for this planet, but cannot occur unless people wake up to themselves. There is a great need for swift and concise understanding of what is beyond the illusion of fairytale Love. In this moment, too many buy into their preoccupation of Love rather than the reality; they are the Love they seek.

Your Journey to Love is the experience of real Love, not by steps, processes and tools... but through integration and communing.

The greatest quest in life is 'to Love and be Loved'. The idea of a twin flame, true love or ultimate soulmate teases the mind, especially through the most challenging moments of life. The soul's true mate is not 'out there'... it sits waiting within. Your Journey to Love is a guiding path along the inner road to true love and your soul's true mate.

Simran Singh is author of Your Journey to Enlightenment: Twelve Guiding Principles of Love Courage and Commitment in the New Dawn New Page Publishers and Conversations With The Universe, Select Books Publishers. Simran's latest, Your Journey to Love: Discover the Path to Your Soul's True Mate - New Page Books will be released February 2015.

    Flex and Shanice live MRTR

    in Pop Culture

    Celebrating Over 150 Episodes!

Hosts: Jamel, Derrick Dwayne and Flash Gotti

#MyRealTalkRadio interviews Multi-Talented Power Couple: FLEX & SHANICE.

Actor comedian Flex Alexander and 90's pop star Shanice are the celebrity couple of this hit docu-series on the OWN network. After hitting

some financial setbacks, the former sitcom star and his singer wife brought in family members of their extended family and Shanice's "momager" Crystal, into their rental home to help make ends meet. Professionally, things are improving: Flex has comedy gigs booked, and Shanice is ready to hit the stage and start recording again. Rumors were that Crystal was to blame for her daughter's career troubles, so Shanice must re-evaluate that relationship all while juggling booking her own gigs and parenting preteens Imani and Elijah. As the financial struggles endure, the fairytale couple along with the help and love of their family, are focused and ready to get back on their feet and make a comeback to remember.

Shanice released her first independent album Every Woman Dreams, on her own label Imajah Records (named for her two children), which has sold over 200,000 copies to date. Thanks to technological advances, Shanice has remained widely visible, receiving close to six million hits from her youtube followers, prompting an article in Huffington post wherein she was called a marketing genius!  Now ready for her major return to the stage, more talented, stronger and sexier than ever, Shanice has collaborated with writers and producers extraordinaire and has recorded a collection of irresistible hits which tell the stories of pain, love, loss and triumph!

Beauty from the Inside Out "Raising Your Inner Beauty" by Susan Miner

    in Spirituality

First, I would like to share my story with you. I became a model while still in high school. Over the course of my career, I was one of the “Most Unforgettable Women of the World” for Revlon and graced the covers of “Vogue and Elle Magazines” and numerous more. Yes, I know it sounds like a fairytale and yes; I had a passport full of stamps and was living the jet-set life. I knew something was missing in my life. I had to make a change.

I was getting paid tons of money for how I looked while secretly hating myself. While smiling and posing for the camera my thoughts often only contained recollections of perceived failures, shortcomings, or waistlines that were too snug. In retrospect, I realized that I was redirecting my inner conflicts of anger, sadness and shame onto my outward body.

The Total Tutor Neil Haley will interview Patrick Pevehouse.

Patrick Pevenouse, playing Lumiere is so happy to be joining Beauty and the Beast.  Most recently, Patrick was seen performing for Disney Cruise Line in Toy Story, the Musical as Woody (starring opposite Ryan Everett Wood as Buzz Lightyear!)  He starred in aNational Tour: The Wizard of Oz , as The Scarecrow.  Regional performances inlude :Hello, Dolly! (Ambrose Kemper), Grease! (Eugene), andThe Wizard of Oz (Scarecrow). A traditional fairytale first published in France in the mid-18th century, Beauty and the Beast is an enduring story of love and friendship that has been translated into hundreds of versions worldwide. When Walt Disney Pictures released the animated feature film Disney’s Beauty and the Beast in 1991 with a score by composer Alan Menken and the late lyricist Howard Ashman, it was hailed as an instant classic, with critics praising its “songs worthy of a Broadway musical.” The film went on to win Academy® Awards for Best Song and Best Original Score, and the film also made history as the only animated feature ever nominated for Best Picture. Given the power of the film’s story and music, the decision was made to bring Disney’s Beauty and the Beast to the Broadway stage.
