SORT BY Relevancy
But God has revealed them unto us by His Spirit, for the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God. 1 Corinthians 2:10
Objective: To show the importance of the church in the Christian's Life.
Memorize verse: Hebrews 10:25 "Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more;; as ye see the day approaching."
The Bible descibes the church in two senses:
1. As the Universal church,
Eph 5:23: 1 Corinthians 12:27; 1 Corinthians 12:12-13; 1 Corintthians 112:25-26; Acts 1:5-11
Mark 12:32-33; Matthew 25:31-32 ; 24:36
2. As the local church.
Hebrews 10:25; Matthew 28:18-19; 1 Corinthians 11:23-61; Acts 4:32-33; 1 Thessalonians 1:6-10;
Why is it important for us to be a part of a local church?
If you're not involved, What kind of church will you seek and when will you start to attend?
Now when they heard this, they were pierced to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Brethren, what shall we do?” Peter said to them, “Repent, and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off, as many as the Lord our God will call to Himself.” And with many other words he solemnly testified and kept on exhorting them, saying, “Be saved from this perverse generation!” So then, those who had received his word were baptized; and that day there were added about three thousand souls. They were continually devoting themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.
Everyone kept feeling a sense of awe; and many wonders and signs were taking place through the apostles. And all those who had believed were together and had all things in common; and they began selling their property and possessions and were sharing them with all, as anyone might have need. Day by day continuing with one mind in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they were taking their meals together with gladness and sincerity of heart, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord was adding to their number day by day those who were being saved.
The Purpose and Mission of the Church is called to praise and glorify God, to establish Jesus Christ’s kingdom, and to proclaim the gospel throughout the world. To praise God. To share God’s glory. God will build his church. To challenge Satan’s dominion. Rulers and authorities in the heavenly realms refers to the powers of evil. To go into the world in mission. To preach the gospel to the world. To do good to all. Images of the church’s mission. A fruitful plant in a fruitless world...
Jude Chapter 1 King James Verison
Jude is exhorting the saints of God to stand up for the faith, and to fight against sin and evil, He also warns them about the false teachers that were among them trying to destroy the truth of God's word. Jude reminds them of how God passed judgment on the wicked before them and how he will do it again. Jude never mentions that he is the brother of Jesus, only the brother of James, so has not to bring any favor upon him because of Jesus.

Have A Blessed Wednesday
In this Bible account from Mark chapter two it says that word began to spread around that Jesus was in a particular house. In fact so many people heard about Jesus that the house was full and no one else could get in. On that day Jesus was preaching the Word of God.
25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
Are You A Thriple Threat? (Commitment-Consistent-Centered) or a Single Slice?
Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass. Psalms 37:5 (KJV)
Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. 26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, 27 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.

God has called us to be fruitful and multiply. After listening to the powerful message of Pastor Michael Peterson "Time to Multiply." let's take a look at how we are preparing for this multiplication. Call us at 646-378-0538 to join the conversation to provoke one another to good works!
Hebrews 10: 23-24 Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;) And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. (KJV)
"So let us seize and hold fast and retain without wavering . . . Not forsaking or neglecting to assemble together [as believers], as is the habit of some people, but admonishing (warning, urging, and encouraging) one another, and all the more faithfully as you see the day approaching. (AMP)
The History of Christianity #26
Our Scripture passage today is Acts 14:22 which reads: "Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God."
Our quote today is from Clement of Alexandria. He said: "Above all Christians are not allowed to correct by violence sinful wrongdoings."
Today, we are discussing "Persecution in the Second Century" (Part 2) from Dr. Justo L. Gonzalez's fine book, The Story of Christianity (Volume 1).
Today we are discussing Ignatius of Antioch, the Bearer of God
About the year 107 AD, the elderly bishop of Antioch, Ignatius, was condemned to death by the imperial authorities. Since great festivities were being planned in Rome in celebration of a military victory, Ignatius was sent to the capital so that his death might provide entertainment for the people. On his way to martyrdom, he wrote seven letters that are among the most valuable documents informing our knowledge of early Christianity.
Ignatius was probably born around 30 or 35 AD, and was well over seventy when his life ended in martyrdom. In his letters, he repeatedly calls himself "the bearer of God," as if this were a title by which he was known - and this is an indication of the high respect in which he was held among Christians. Much later, by making a slight change in the Greek text of his letters, people began speaking of Ignatius as "he who was borne by God," and thus arose the legend that he was the little child whom Jesus picked up and placed in the midst of his disciples. In any case, by the beginning of the second century Ignatius had great prestige in the entire Christian community, because he was bishop (the second after the apostles) of one of the most ancient churches, that of Antioch.
Ladies exhorting other ladies with inspirational quotes, Scripture readings, prayer, and miscellania. Feel free to call in, especially with prayer requests. We are still playing with the format to see what people will enjoy. We will always open with a prayer from Valley of Vision, and will always praise God! We will post the topic the week before the show airs, as we decide what we are going to talk about.
This week: Submitting under protest.

In his book, The Undefeated Mind, physician Alex Lickerman argues that resilience isn't something with which only a fortunate few of us have been born, but rather something we can all take action to develop.
He offers a set of guidelines not for solving problems but for establishing a life state that makes all problems solvable. The Undefeated Mind details nine principles we can all use to dramatically increase our ability to withstand adversity, exhorting us to stop hoping for easy lives and instead to focus on cultivating the inner strength we need to enjoy the difficult lives we all have.
Among other things, he focuses on why patients do not always follow the instructions of their physician. What is about us that makes us say "yes" and then not do it? How can patients and doctors change this?
He shares his philosophy that all people are endowed with the innate ability to create value out of any situation, no matter how awful or tragic. Unlike the idea that every cloud has a silver lining—that something positive can always be found in everything negative—the principle of changing poison into medicine explains that we can transform even the most horrific tragedy into the very thing we need to become happier than we currently are.
"It’s a powerful book that helps you cultivate your inner strength to face hard times with a fearless heart. It’s more than a book. It’s a set of tools for life." -- J. D. Meier

After many attempts, we are ready to try an actual episode. We are ready to give it a real run today, Lord Willing! Be prepared as we may stumble :) This is still a test show :)
Today's topic will be Biblical submission.
7 O LORD, thou hast deceived me, and I was deceived: thou art stronger than I, and hast prevailed: I am in derision daily, every one mocketh me.
8 For since I spake, I cried out, I cried violence and spoil; because the word of the LORD was made a reproach unto me, and a derision, daily.
9 Then I said, I will not make mention of him, nor speak any more in his name. But his word was in mine heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I was weary with forbearing, and I could not stay.
(Old Testament | Jeremiah 20:7 - 9)
And it came to pass that the days of Ether were in the days of Coriantumr; and Coriantumr was king over all the land.
2 And Ether was a prophet of the Lord; wherefore Ether came forth in the days of Coriantumr, and began to prophesy unto the people, for he could not be restrained because of the Spirit of the Lord which was in him.
3 For he did cry from the morning, even until the going down of the sun, exhorting the people to believe in God unto repentance lest they should be destroyed, saying unto them that by faith all things are fulfilled—
4 Wherefore, whoso believeth in God might with surety hope for a better world, yea, even a place at the right hand of God, which hope cometh of faith, maketh an anchor to the souls of men, which would make them sure and steadfast, always abounding in good works, being led to glorify God.
5 And it came to pass that Ether did prophesy great and marvelous things unto the people, which they did not believe, because they saw them not.
