An African American soldier returns home to New York City from the Vietnam War in the late 1960s. It is a time of turbulence and change and racism is very much alive in America. Times are tough for a young black man in America, especially one who has fought for his country in an unpopular war. Rick Talley takes what he believes the only economic road open to him: drug dealing. Prisoner of Dreams presents a large cast of characters, from small time street hustlers and pimps to Hollywood and Las Vegas celebrities, to organized crime figures. In a poignant, eye-opening memoir, the author describes his life and the times, the good and the bad, in New York City and Harlem during one of the most seminal periods in American history. This month’s “X-Women” show features Pete Griffiths, who joins host Colleen Sautez live from Ireland. Pete is well known in ex-Scientology circles, blogging at Ex-Scientologists Ireland and actively participating in protests.
According to the Ex-Scientologists Ireland website, Griffiths ran a mission in Cumbria, in northern England, winning a competition between missions for highest recruitment and sales for his division. His weekly figures eventually petered out. It wasn’t until he heard of a protest in 2008 that he looked into Scientology online and became disillusioned and angry, burning any Scientology stuff he had in a bonfire. Learn more about Pete’s fascinating story and his work in Ireland in this month’s X-Women show. Please visit GodDiscussion.net for links and more information and a schedule of upcoming shows.
We continue this important discussion with returning guest, ex-offender, "Mr. G", about the plight of so many who try to find work and rebuild their lives but who all to often end up returning to a life of crime after being discouraged by the lack of opportunity and discrimination. This time around we dig deeper and reveal more, and brainstorm about ways to tackle this serious issue.
Here's the show that most of you have been waiting for. It's the show where we are going to interview and coach a stepmother who claims she has the craziest (she calls it bat s--- crazy) ex wife on the planet. This is actually a famous person, but you know how it is. We're going to keep it anonymous. Sorry.
Let the conversation start. Let the suggestions flow. Get ready to laugh and cry. It's going to be one of those! I set this one up for an hour and a half. It may go on and on!
As always, I thank you for listening and if you ever want to talk further, you can find me at:

How long do you wait to date your friends ex? Or what are the rules to crossing those lines and exhibiting those behaviors? Ms. Kitty reveals who right and who’s wrong in the love game and if the timeline matters!
Discrimination is a given in our society and the world. Being denied rights because of "race", ethnicity, religion, sex, or sexual orientation is a constant reality. The fight is a daily battle for many. However, there are those who face another, or in some cases, additional discrimination based on the fact that they have commited a crime even though they have served their time. Most find it difficult, if not impossible, to find employment or housing after they have left prison. This ultimately puts the ex-offender in a stressful position and many times forced to return to illegal activity to support him/herself. Although there are many programs to help ex-offenders enter the job market it is ultimately employers who refuse to take the next step to hire.
This issue is rarely discussed and I am happy to have a gentleman, we'll call "Mr. G" share his experience. Born and raised in Chicago, his troubles began when he moved to New York City when he was exposed to the "fast lane" as he put it. Unable to cope he got caught up in a lifestyle and ended up in prison. Though he is on a spiritual path, like so many ex-offenders he is finding it hard to find work and housing due to his past.
Happy to report that my guest has just found a job and will have begun work by the time of this broadcast.
Real Life w/Real Talk is back for its 3rd season featuring hosts Niqui, Fresh and Tiff.
Is it possible to have a successful relationship with a new person if you and an ex still have a close friendship? Or, have you ever been in a relationship with someone that was still good or close friends with their ex? How did this, or did this, impact your relationship?
Let's talk about it! Peace and Blessings...
