For this another episode of Naughty Down Advice. I have a special guest that goes by the name ESG who is a rapper that trailblazed through the late-'90s movement and helped popularize the "chopped and screwed" style associated with his onetime home, Wreckshop Records. The "Everyday Street Gangsta" (born Cedric Hill) made his first major move in 1995 when Perrion Entertainment released Ocean of Funk (1995), which featured his breakthrough single, "Swangin' and Bangin'," and its accompanying "Chopped and Screwed" mix. Though commonplace a few years later, the chopped and screwed style of remixing hadn't yet become trendy. Thus the mix became just as popular as the song itself, if not more so. This success inspired Perrion to reissue the most impressive songs from Ocean of Funk ("Swangin' and Bangin'," "Crooked Streets," and "Smoke On") on Sailin' da South (1995), this album distributed widely by Priority. Following these related 1995 albums by Perrion, E.S.G. maintained a low profile while imprisoned yet continued to reap the continuing success of Sailin' da South as its reach spread beyond Texas, and so much more.
A culture and form of ground breaking music and self expression with elements that consisted of the elements of graffiti art, DJing, MCing, and breaking. Today Hip-Hop is considered to be dead in the mainstream because so-called mainstream Hip-Hop doesn't have the elements of hip-hop and have no meaning.
The stuff on MTV and the radio can't be called Hip-Hop because the lyrics don't have any meaning or self expression. Wack artists today just rap about their shopping lists and other bullshit. There are no more DJs making a prescence since artists today think they can manage without them. Without a DJ there are no scratches and cuts. No much graffiti art is being shown in videos.

Alice Chapple, Director for Sustainable Financial Markets at Forum for the Future, talks about the impact of the financial crisis and, indeed, environmental disasters such as the BP oil spill, on financial investing. Are we are likely to see environmental, social and governance factors routinely included in financial analysis in the future? And why is it important for investment firms to communicate their ESG initiatives to stakeholders? This interview highlights the growing importance of sustainable investment and how it could potentially develop. The interview also touches upon Forum for the Future's recently developed tool kit designed for fund managers in developing countries to encourage them to embed sustainability into their decision-making on investments. Alice will be speaking at the ESG Strategies for the Sustainable Investor conference in Belgium from 18th - 20th October. For further details about this event please visit www.esgstrategies.com. How have pension funds reacted to the financial crisis with regards to becoming more responsible in their investment practices? Louise Rouse, Director of Investor Engagement at Fair Pensions, explores this topic in an exclusive interview with Finance IQ. She also discusses the recent Fair Pensions fund management survey, which showed that currently short-termism rules the markets, and offers her views on how this is likely to change in the short and medium term.
Next she looks at how institutional investors might be able to pool together to be responsible investors, and whether companies issuing shares should bear the cost of making it easier for shareholders to be responsible investors, considering the significant logistical obstacles to voting as a cross-border shareholder. Finally, from an engagement point of view, one of the biggest developments has been the recent publication of the stewardship code. We ask what impact this is expected to have on engagement activity. Louise Rouse will be moderating a panel on Engagement - a Third-Generation ESG Strategy at the ESG Strategies and Sustainable Investor conference in Belgium from 18th - 20th October.
