From the same school as "If you want peace, prepare for war," a global maritime power must maintain a presence at sea. It must design a national strategy in line with its economic capability and political will, and make sure it mans, trains, and equips its navy in line with the design.
If presence is a critical function of a navy, how is it best accomplished, what are the tradeoffs, and how does it impact friends, competitors, and those sitting on the fence?
Our guest for the full hour to discuss this and more will be Dr. Henry J. Hendrix, Jr, CAPT USN (Ret).
Jerry is a Senior Fellow and the Director of the Defense Strategies and Assessments Program at the Center for a New American Security.
When on active duty, his staff assignments include tours with the Chief of Naval Operation’s Executive Panel (N00K), and the OSD Office of Net Assessment From 2011-2012 he served as the Director and Designated Federal Officer of the Secretary of the Navy’s Advisory Panel. He also contributed to the 2012 Department Posture Statement to the Congress. Following the fall, 2011 Navy Inspector General’s Report on the state of the Naval History and Heritage Command, he was verbally ordered by the Secretary to assume the position of Director of Naval History.
Hendrix previously served as the Navy Fellow to the Weatherhead Center for International Affairs at Harvard University. He has been awarded a Bachelor Degree in Political Science from Purdue University, Masters Degrees from the Naval Postgraduate School (National Security Affairs) and Harvard University (History) and received his doctorate from King’s College, London (War Studies).

The Language of Revelation: Classical Arabic Language Instruction and Exercises with Qur’aan Commentary For Beginners & Non-Beginner’s By Siddeeq Jihad.
I have read this detailed, scholarly work of our brother, Siddeeq Jihad. The book is basically written and structured to help anyone who is interested in learning Classical Arabic. The book is highly instructive and well organized.
No doubt, the author Siddeeq Jihad has a great love for Lughatut-tanzeel, the language of revelation. He has dedicated many years studying and teaching Qur’aanic Arabic.
Allah has enabled him to share the knowledge He has blessed him with. Siddeeq has had a long jihad (exertion of diligent effort/time) in learning Qur’aanic Arabic.
The book is extremely useful! It is an excellent guide for beginners and non-beginners and whoever is interested in learning Lughatut-Tanzeel: The Language of Revelation. This work equips and empowers its readers with a strong foundation to understand Qur’aanic Arabic. It can indeed lead students, male and female toward Arabic proficiency. I strongly recommend the book for brothers and sisters who are interested in learning Qur’aanic Arabic as well as Modern Standard Arabic.

Bear talks faith and story with Jason Craig, Director of Training and Program Development at Fraternus, a parish-based Catholic movement to help mentor boys to become virtuous Catholic men.
Here is the Philosophy of Fraternus:
“The youth of today need fathers. They need men who will step into their lives and lead them to the Truth we all long for. They need a few less interesting people in their lives, and one who is a little more interested. Youth ministry as we know it today is a response to the breakdown of the family, arguably the role of the father. However, rather than addressing symptoms, Fraternus deals with a root issue – fatherlessness. Fraternus equips and inspires men to do what only they can do – be spiritual fathers and mentors to the boys in their life. Every man has what it takes, but not every man had a True Mentor as a boy. This is where the Fraternus programming, training and support take a man who is willing, faithful and Catholic and form him into a True Mentor which in return causes an entire transformation in a family, community and the culture.”
If you want to get fired up about Fraternus, watch this video. Wow.

Guest: Lindsay Enita
Topic of Discussion: Redefine Your Life
Lindsay Enita bio: Lindsay Enita is CEO of Transparent Grace and lives in Charlotte, North Carolina. She is a speaker, coach, trainer, and author of the soon-to-be released book, “When Life Happens: Understanding God’s Purpose, Plan, and Process for your life.”(c)
Life can leave us all hurt, broken, and wanting to give up. Lindsay’s story is no different, but she kept thinking, “There has to be more to this faith thing than going to church.” Her pursuit to equip women to win in life andfaith began when she realized church did not prepare her to live the faith she was taught. Where church teaches the “what” and “why” of Christian faith, the most important part is the “how.”
Now armed with wisdom, education, and practical applications learned on her journey, Lindsay equips women to bridge the gap between real life and faith. Through her workshops, seminars, retreats, and the Real.Life.Faith.™ community, she creates an atmosphere of safety, transparency, and hope that gives women permission to lower their guard to explore real life issues and topics some religious organizations do not address. Step by practical step, she guides women to deeper faith and richer lives through Real.Life.Faith.™

Al Diaz and co-host Yvonne Solomon share their insights on Embracing the Steps of Transformation.
Friday, December 4th 10am PST
Yvonne Solomon, certified Trichologist, began her career much later in life than most cosmetologists, attending beauty school at the age of 37. While this may have discouraged some, Yvonne saw it as an advantage. Her life experience and maturity gave her the wisdom to show proper respect for the health and care of hair itself as well as understanding the individual needs of each client. Without this attitude it’s hard to keep healthy hair on the scalp. With over 20 years experience, in the Industry her love and passion for hair has not waned.
Some of Yvonne’ssecrets to staying motivated in this highly competitive industry are always being willing to learn, and continually look for ways to share her knowledge with others. Yvonne’s love of learning has resulted in becoming a, Certified Medical Hair Loss Specialist, Laser Retailer/Trainer, Mastectomy Breast Fitter, Certified Herbalist as well as a Workshop Leader and Educator. She has served as Stylist Coordinator for The American Cancer Society's Look Good, Feel Better Program and as an Ambassador for The National Hair Society.
Mrs. Solomon’s studies helped her gained eyes to see what most stylists couldn’t---HOPE. Hope that provides real, meaningful solutions for clients with severe hair challenges. Mrs. Solomon’s ongoing studies and research equips her to serve her clients effectively, and contribute to those that shared her passion. As a serious educator, Mrs. Solomon’s life is reflective of the phrase, “when the student is ready, the teacher will appear”. In 2014 Mrs. Solomon added Certified Transformation Coach to her list of skills.
