    Website 101 for Christian Entrepreneurs

    in Women

    Do I need to have a website if my business is small or if the product I’m selling or the service I’m offering is not online-based?

    In this tech-savvy world where children get to learn how to operate a tablet computer even before they learn how to read, it may come as a surprise to know that there are still small business owners out there who miss out on one of the most powerful marketing tools available to them.

    I somehow understand the hesitation. The World Wide Web can be a labyrinth for beginner Christian entrepreneurs. It’s challenging enough to start a business; having to learn technical things can be an added stress.

    But you don’t need to be techy in order to establish your business presence online. The key is in knowing the basics and finding the right people to do it for you.

    In this episode we talk to author and speaker Holly Nelson, owner of 2C Development Group, a website development company. Holly’s business has been around since 1996, creating sites that convert visitors into customers.

    Holly will share with us important information website-less business owners need to know before sourcing for a company to help you build your company website.

    What Entrepreneurs Need to Know About Effective Public Speaking

    in Business

    Some people would rather die than speak in front a group of people.  Yet it is important for Entrepreneurs to be able to communicate effectively about the product or services they offer to groups of people.  I have been speaking in front of people since the age of three when I delivered my line in a church Tom Thumb Wedding.  I guess I had a talent for public speaking, or at least I didn't let fear keep me from the spotlight.  One of the things I enjoyed most about Pastoral Ministry was delivering the Sunday Morning Sermon and I trained church members in the fine art of sermon delivery  In this episode I want to share with you a few things I believe can help you be an effictive public speaker.

    In this episode you will:

    Understand that fear is your friend;
    Understand ways to emotionally prepare yourself to speak in public;
    Understand how to use your Diaphragm effectively when speaking in public.

    Why Maintaining a Non-Anxious Presence Can Help Entrepreneurs

    in Business

    I will discuss what the late Edwin H. Friedman calls in his book, "Generation to Generation: Family Process in Church and Synagogue", 'maintaining a non-anxious presence.'  Friedman was a Rabbi and family therapist who utilized family systems theory in institutional families like religious congregations and their hierarchies, schools, hospitals, professional partnerships and business enterprises.

    Keeping focus on who we are and where we are headed is more important than the negativity we get from critics who do not have our best interest at heart.  Maintaining a non-anxious presence is one way we can live a meaningful and happy life.

    Entrepreneurs will find this helpful particularly when living with friends and family members who do not understand or appreciate the dreams they have for themselves.
