Michéal Castaldo is an Italian-born Canadian, and now a New York City resident classical crossover tenor, music producer and composer.
Castaldo started his voice studies with maestro Pisapia, a protégé of the Italian operatic tenor Enrico Caruso. Castaldo graduated from Oakwood Collegiate Institute in Toronto and Berklee College of Music in Boston. Castaldo performed his theatrical debut on a Long Island concert stage at the Hearst Auditorium at the new Athletic and Activity Center at Chaminade High School in Mineola on Sunday, May 15, 2011.
Castaldo's third album Aceto was released on June 15, 2010. The album includes 14 classic and 2 original Italian songs. He recorded an Italian version of "Hallelujah" on the album. A video of the song was filmed in Toronto, Canada, in December 2010 by filmmaker Greg Riccio Jr. supporting the Free Hugs Campaign to promote random acts of kindness.
In 2011, his original single titled "Pray'r", co-written with Stein Berge Svendsen, was released as a digi-single. Castaldo has completed a new Italian album to be released in 2012.
Castaldo had written and produced "Goin' Krazy" that José Feliciano released in 1994, which entered a Billboard dance chart. He was also one of the winners of the Abe Olman Scholarship Awards in 1988 as presented by the Songwriters Hall of Fame.
In 2012, Castaldo was a competitor in The Europe Tourism Board classical-crossover artist award. Out of 37 submitted artists, he finished third.

In recent years there has been an alarming rise in the number of American children and youth assigned a mental health diagnosis. Current data from the Centers for Disease Control reveal a 41 percent increase in rates of ADHD diagnoses over the past decade and a forty-fold spike in bipolar disorder diagnoses. Similarly, diagnoses of autism spectrum disorder, once considered, has increased by 78 percent since 2002.Dr. Enrico Gnaulati, a clinical psychologist specializing in childhood and adolescent therapy and assessment, has witnessed firsthand the push to diagnose these disorders in youngsters.

Bright Not Broken: Mentally Gifted Not Disordered
Dr. Enrico GnaulatiMany of our Gifted kids are misunderstood and misdiagnosed with ADHD, Bi-Polar and other related conditions. Having the right "lens" to view many of the characteristics these unique individuals present with is key. In this episode we will discuss what does a mentally gifted kid look like? Too often when a child is fidgety, restless, argumentative, aloof or unmotivated teachers and care providers assume these are signs of a disorder rather than possibly signs of giftedness. Our guest Dr. Enrico Gnaulati is a psychologist in private practice, Pasadena CA. He specializes in child and adolescent therapy and assessment, parenting consultation, couples therapy and in-depth adult individual therapy. He has published a host of scholarly articles and magazine pieces, and is the author of "Emotion-Regulating Play Therapy with ADHD Children: Staying with Playing," as well as the fortcoming book, "Back to Normal: The Overlooked, Ordinary Explanations for Kids' ADHD, Bi-Polar, and Autistic-Like Behavior."
Born in Sicily, Italy in 1956, Enrico moved with his family to New York in 1962. After attending school in Queens, he moved to Manhattan in 1977 and worked in the restaurant business as a waiter, bartender and manager. He opened his first restaurant in 1982 and quickly started opening a slew of restaurants in the years following; from 1982 until 2012, with the help of his brother Bob, he opened roughly 40 establishments in Manhattan. The restaurants- mostly Italian- were a huge success and the formula was an easy one to follow: “si mangia bene, si paga poco.” This is a low risk formula that means “eat well, spent less”. The two formed NYCRG [New York Restaurant Group] which operates restaurants in the upper West Side, Hell’s Kitchen, The Theater District and Chelsea. All of these restaurants are quintessential neighborhood trattorias catering to folks that eat 3 times a week.
After 30 years of running NYCRG, Enrico made the move to Miami to be with his wife and son Luca. Although initially fun to live in a tropical paradise, after a year "I got a little bored- I mean how many times can you go to the beach?" he says. Thus Cara Mia was opened! After 3 months of renovation to transform a space with a small kitchen, limited storage and low ceilings, a mixture of Fellini and industrial looks with a solid Italian menu was born.
