Rebel Music - The Bob Marley Story(2001)
When you think of Reggae music, you most likely think of Bob Marley first. Musical genius, innovator, cultural icon, inspiration to millions… Bob Marley means so much to so many people, but how much do you really know about his life?
This is an excellent documentary that explores Bob Marley’s life, from his humble beginnings to his tragic death, providing a new perspective of the people and events that made Bob the man he became.
It’s a truly fascinating story and for me it definitely enhanced my appreciation, enjoyment and emotional connection to his music.
I strongly recommend this film for reggae music fans and documentary film buffs alike.

On August 19, 2014, RevKess got to sit down at the KZUM studios and talk with SJ Tucker and Betsy Tinney. Both ladies are truly magickal beings and they were in Lincoln, NE to bring their special kind of musical magick to an audience at the historic Feguson House. Earlier in the day they met with RevKess to talk about their music, their lives, and share of themselves with listeners of Murphy's Magic Mess on KZUM - and with the PMPChannel listeners.
August 24 heard the first part of this conversation on the Mess. The second segment, split into two parts, was heard on September 7. For your listening enjoyment is the entire interview and a selection of music. The music is slightly different from that heard on the Mess.

Lost in TBI sauce of enjoyment, 'vacation', Racin', Golf, Education Conference and me Downtown Milton yard work was simply - a break away from 'society' as I know it to be. I planned, I struggled, and did more than the above during the past 5 weeks. Well, make that 5 1/2 weeks. We will begin with The Best of Matt episode about 'Traumatic Passions' (check out the voices, the callers. Remember these folks?). We'll slip in the back door the studio around 11:30 p.m. to go back LIVE! on the air. Let me tell y'all "What I did on my summer vacation" for the closing hour. Yep, a reverse of what is common for people often will show up to work only to gear down. I'm gonna slam this machine into fourth gear, probably have a chug, and end TMDS second season with, with, with, uh, with...damnit, with FOCUS on going BACK TO BASICS. We often may not forget "where we came from", but struggle with past knowledge of the stratigies created. I'm here to HELP YOU HELP ME... Oh boy, I better get a nap beacuse as Dad used to tell me as a young'in - "Ya best git ta work, boy".
My guest is KEVIN SPORT from the National televison show THE RIGHT PLACE WITH KEVIN SPORT that can be seen on RFD-TV!
"Am I in the right place?"
We all have asked that question more than once in our lives and not just when we are trying to go somewhere unfamiliar for vacation. Whenever we have ventured somewhere new in our lives and that place was not quite what we expected, we have experienced the doubt that causes us to ask the question: "Am I in the right place?" But who has the answer? Someone who has been there before.
Kevin Sport has been there before. From a young age, Sport knew music was at the core of his life. He dreamed of singing and songwriting his way into people's hearts through their radios. He packed up his guitar, left his hometown of Greenville, Alabama and headed to the country music capital of the world, Nashville, Tennessee. But after some time there, Sport's dream did not materialize as he expected. He began to doubt he was in the right place and even if he had the right dream. Defeated, he came back home to southern Alabama and threw his guitar under the bed. Sport explains, "I felt that I had missed my chance because of the direction my personal life and the harsh realities of the business side of music. I should move on to something else."
But the dream did not die, even though Sport may have denied it. While he pushed music away, music remained a part of him and his family and friends knew it. Consequently, those who knew and loved Sport, began to encourage him to fish out the guitar from under the bed and begin once again to share his music, not just with them, but also with anyone who finds enjoyment and meaning in music. Sport remembers, "People always asked me, ‘Are you still singing? Are you still pursuing music, and if not, then why?'"
