Racism in America is not like racism was a century ago. Once upon a time Blacks accepted being treated as property. I'm not referring to the days of slavery. I refer to the time after slavery was abolished. Blacks most definitely was referred to as a lot of things none of which we'll talk about here. After slavery Blacks were acceptant of names, and adjectives to describe their actions. Blacks were told what to do and when to do it. Racism was a way of life for Whites and Blacks. Blacks were oppressed and just staying alive and not being beat was a successful day. Through all the troubles of daily life Blacks kept the faith, did the work, and made the necessary changes to gain respect of the people they now slaved for scraps and basically pennies. Change wasn't easy for Blacks nor the majority race then nor now. Even when we want change, when others fight against the change or just refuse the change it is most difficult to change. America we must change our actions toward one another. We must end institutional racism before racism destroy America. Racism is real. Racism is visited upon Blacks daily by Whites. There is no Black racism. Skin supremacy exist but today it is more money than skin
Racism In Maine, I will discuss my journey living in small town America. I will discuss positive ways to deal with the stress of living in a pressure cooker where you see beautiful trees mountains & skys, but underneath it all is serious lack of respect for anything or anyone that is not white or orginally from this part of Northern Maine. Aroostook County.
Being Black or Native American in Maine, your elected officials become your enemy's in a effort to keep their constituents happy. Federal dollars are not spend fairly & adequetly.

Racism w/guests Jovan Mackenzy, T Deimaris Barlow, & Erick Rose
Racism has exsisted for a very long time throughout history in the world, and here in America we have a part of our History during the times of slavery where black men and women were treated as less then human. We would like to think we have come along way since those days but have we? While racism has never truly gone away in our country and most likely will always be around in some form until the Lord returns, over the last year or so we have seen an increase of this or at least it seems as an increase now that with social media videos and photos can quickly travel in minutes if not seconds. Allowing everyone to see acts of racism much more then may have possibly been seen without the internet and access to video cameras at the touch of our fingertips on just about every phone that someone may have.
My prayer for this show is to really talk about this issue of racism and what we are seeing our country. Talking about the police, black on black crime, repsonses from white people, racial profiling, the sin of racism, and what we can do better as Christians to enagage and respond to the sin of racism and show the world how to deal with this issue from a biblical worldview. While at the same time not minimizing the hurt, pain and anger felt by those who have been on the negative side of racism because of the color of their skin.
WE WILL DISCUSS THE SITUATION WHERE 12 BLACK WOMEN WERE PUT OFF OF A NAPA VALLEY WINE TRAIN FOR LAUGHING. POLICE WERE CALLED AND THE WOMEN WERE PUT OFF IN THE HOT SUN. IT SHOWS THAT RACISM IS ALIVE AND WELL IN 2015! WE WILL ALSO TALK ABOUT INTERNET STALKING AND HARASSMENT. WHEN IS ENOUGH ENOUGH? SPECIAL GUEST CALLERS MAY OR MAY NOT CALL IN. IT IS GOING TO BE A GREAT SHOW. SO TUNE IN WITH ME CJ RAINEY YOUR HOST. BRING IT LIKE YOU TALK IT.
Gun Control & Historical Racism
As Black Americans we must realize that gun control laws, from a historical perspective, serve one purpose, to keep us vulnerable and more easily oppressed. This is not conjecture or rhetoric, it is easily documented fact.
Join us, Alex Primo and Asha Zuri, Thursday October 8th at 9 PM EST as we explore the way America sought to disarm Melanated individuals across the land as part of a ruthless plot to control, intimidate, and in many cases murder innocent slaves and freed men alike.
Brendan O’Neill of the Guardian notes:
Throughout the 1800's, states passed gun-control laws that were fundamentally racist. So, panicked by the prospect of more black rebellions against white landowners, the North Carolina Supreme Court passed a statute in 1840 that said: “If any free negro, mulatto, or free person of color shall wear or carry about his or her person, or keep in his or her house, any shotgun, musket, rifle, pistol, sword, dagger or bowie-knife… he or she shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and may be indicted therefore.”
In 1941, a judge in Florida’s Supreme Court called the laws into question when he overturned the conviction of a black man for carrying a handgun without a permit. He overturned the conviction, he said, because this law “was passed for the purpose of disarming the negro laborers … and to give the white citizens in sparsely settled areas a better feeling of security. The statute was never intended to be applied to the white population and in practice has never been so applied.”
All of this plus brother Dennis Jefferson will be dropping by with another fantastic episode of Healthy Matters.
