Are Electronic Gifts Hazardous To Your Health?

    in Environment

Many people receive all sorts of electronic gadgets as gifts. In today's world, is it possible to avoid technology? We use it to make our coffee ,text messages to friends, microwave food and work on laptops. We're being zapped! Today 84 % of Americans own a cell phone, 89 million of us watch TV beamed in by satellite and we can't sip a cup of coffee at our local cafe without being exposed to Wi-Fi. The very electronic innovations that have changed our lives are also exposing us, in ways big and small, to an unprecedented number of electromagnetic fields. Invisible pollution surrounds us 24/7, interrupting our bodies' natural flow of energy. And for some, that pollution has reached the point of toxicity, causing fatigue, irritability, weakness, and even illness. But we don't have to simply surrender. Ann Louise Gittleman brings forth the latest research into electromagnetic fields to create this groundbreaking guide for every citizen of the wireless age. With the proactive, levelheaded approach that has made her one of our most respected health experts, she not only clarifies the risks but also offers specific, step-by-step information for how anyone can minimize them. From where you place your sofa to when you use your cell phone to what you eat for dinner.

Tune in to this segment of The Organic View Radio Show, as host, June Stoyer is joined by Ann Louise Gittleman to discuss her best-selling book, Zapped. Today’s show is sponsored by Austria’s Finest Naturally Authentic Pumpkin Seeds and Pumpkin Seed Oil from the Steiermark available at OrganicUniverse.com. Teen Bullying, Suicide, and Electronic Tools to Combat Them

    in Youth

On December 3, 12-year-old Ronin Shimizu, a former 6th grader enrolled at Folsom Middle School, committed suicide after schoolmates had bullied him for being a cheerleader.

According to the CDC, suicide is the third leading cause of death among young people, resulting in about 4,400 deaths per year.
Bully victims are between 2 to 9 times more likely to consider suicide than non-victims, according to studies by Yale University.
A study in Britain found that at least half of suicides among young people are related to bullying
10 to 14 year old girls may be at even higher risk for suicide, according to the study above
According to statistics reported by ABC News, nearly 30 percent of students are either bullies or victims of bullying, and 160,000 kids stay home from school every day because of fear of bullying

Anonymous Alerts® is a tool which enables students to quickly report bullying, cyberbullying, depression, family problems, drug and alcohol abuse, gang-related issues, sexual harassment, guns/weapons in schools, theft/vandalism or unusual student behavior which may warrant immediate attention by school officials. The system is simple and secure for students and school officials.

Deja was practically born to be a performer. The daughter of Norman Howell, a well-established stunt man/coordinator/director and stunt double for Kevin Costner, Deja traveled from location to location growing up, so it’s no wonder that she thinks of a movie set as “home.” As a little girl, Deja fell in love with the idea of performing. It would be the film “Dances with Wolves” where Deja would get her first taste of performing. She continued to participate in the ‘family business’ throughout her adolescence, but soon realized that stunts were not enough, as the life of an actress brought conflicted emotions. Having grown up on movie sets, she understands the life of an actor can be isolating, unfulfilling and unpredictable at times. With a longing to touch people’s lives through performing, it makes sense that Deja has branched out into other areas of creativity, such as music.
Deja has made sure to keep music a large part of her life, which earned a residency at Hollywood’s Bar Lubitsch. Deja not only sings, but she also plays acoustic guitar and piano.

STOP Telling Women How To Feel About Street Harassment!

    in Current Events

Should men tell women how they should feel about street harassment? Shoshana B Roberts was filmed walking the streets of New York City, enduring unsolicited catcalls in the course of a single day. There are so many issues with this story. Why did they edit out everyone except Black and Latino men? Where in NY was she walking? Did her outfit have anything to do with the catcalls? If women aren't dressed appropriately, are they asking for attention? Can you even call that harassment? Is this more about classism than it is about sexism?

We will ::ANSWER:: these questions and more on this episode of the ::ANSWERS:: show — with Joe Paul, A.J. Miller, Arkay Evans and Jackson Bracey.
