Most eco-friendly books start with terror-inducing lists of the carcinogenic chemicals you are liberally slathering all over every single surface in your house, painting most people as unwitting eco-villains, happily Lysol-ing their way straight to hell. Well, readers can just relax and unpack the (plastic) bags. There are no guilt trips with All You Need is Less, which is about realistically adopting an eco-friendly lifestyle without either losing your mind from soul-destroying guilt or becoming a preachy know-it-all whom everyone loathes.
Join us as we chat with Canada’s top eco-blogger, tree-hugger extraordinaire, animal-lover, and unrepentant hippie, Madeleine Somerville about the book in which she has created original ways on how to save money, the planet, and have fun in the process. Determined to avoid the guilt of the modern environmental movement, she offers hilarious and practical advice for moving towards a greener you in All You Need Is Less. The book answers questions such as how do we cultivate our own pesticide-free garden? What is a “green” hygiene boot camp? It covers topics from eco-friendly baby solutions to make-it-yourself litter and flea spray. Madeleine has everything we need to live a planet-loving life.
Madeleine Somerville adores writing in all its incarnations — dramatic exclamation-filled diary entries, pseudo-journalistic endeavors for small town weeklies, and the disfigured, bastard child of the above, blogging. Her article, "Ten Crazy Hippie Lady Things You Should Try" was SkinnyScoop.com's most popular post ever! She has a B.A. in sociology and is addicted to commas and soft cheeses. She became devoted to the environment after moving to British Columbia eight years ago, and her husband, daughter, and dog suffer the effects of this metamorphosis on a daily basis.
As consumer or beauty shop owner, have you wondered where are the local Beauty Supply Stores owned by African-American’s? Can you purchase quality products on-line? In a Billion dollar industry, where are the profits going? Does any of your money find its way back to your neighborhood? These are questions we all are asking our friends, neighbors and people we know that are in the Black Hair Care business.
We have as our special guest, Ms. Regina Kimbell, producer of My Nappy ROOTS and Founder of NAPPYWOOD weekend Los Angeles. In her own words, “I’m a documentary filmmaker first so it gives me an objective overview of the industry also from a historic perspective.” We will get her perspective on the industry of today along with her opinion as the prognosticator for the future.
You will hear cuts from the Nappy Roots Soundtrack. We’ll get into the facts and fiction of this billion dollar industry that manufactures for, supplying to and servicing African-Americans.

On todays show, Rosie & Jason are going to discuss the benefits of: Activated Charcoal; Lemons; Carrot Seed hydrosols; pomegranates; black sea salt and black seed oil.
People have been using activated charcoal for thousands of years. In World War I, activated charcoal was used in gas masks to prevent soldiers from being poisoned by chemical exposure, and it has been used to treat water (making it tasteless and odorless) since 1930.
Until a few months ago, I really was not aware of the enormous benefits of activated charcoal (also known as activated carbon). However, I soon learned that this substance provides a number of amazing benefits.
We are going to be accepting calls the last half hour of the show however we ask that your calls relate to the topics we are discussing today. The call-in number is 1-714-888-7516
The show will be hosted by Rosalea, Jason and Numa and is sponsered by Blended Herbal Treasures at www.blendedherbaltreasures.com

With women influencing 80% of buying decisions, purchasing 50% of new cars and 48% of used cars it’s no wonder that the automotive industry is taking notice. Smart automotive businesses are reaching out to this fast growing market with initiatives aimed at attracting the attention of female shoppers. By creating family-friendly environments, re-positioning their brands and developing programs designed to understand and accommodate the needs of women, automotive companies can build establishments that not only appeal to women but to all consumers. This week's show speaks to strategies and techniques on ways to build woman friendly auto businesses.
