Have you just received your results and have no idea how to analyze them? What do you know about Identical by Descent (IBD) and Identical by State( IBS)? Have you lowered the threshold on your DNA matches and discovered that you match everyone? Should you do this and is it a valid indicator for identifying matches?
Shannon Christmas will discuss how DNA analysis, when used in concert with traditional genealogical research methods, can help family historians overcome challenges unique to genealogy research. He will also answer your burning questions concerning the various DNA test.
Shannon Christmas is an experienced genealogist specializing in genetic, colonial American, and African-American genealogy in Virginia and the Carolinas. This show will discuss the important principles of parenting - a parenting standard: The Household DNA Parenting Pyramid...Creating Strong Families
Included in our discussion:
The Questioning Parent..
The Default Parent...
Parenting out of Guilt...
The Lazy Parent...
The effects of poor parenting skills and their correlation to sociopathic behavior have been routinely studied. Unfortunately, the cliché of society’s inability or reluctance to regulate parenting suggests inadequate parenting as a style embedded in traditional practices instead of insufficient standards. Parenting has a standard, and its seven principles, individually, have proven to offset and prevent illicit actions.
The development of the Parenting Standard:
* criteria -seven principles: Agape love, peace, protection, provision, bless and edify,
wisdom and guidance.
* presentation - pyramid (reflects strongest geometric shape, the triangle)
* design - major elements of structural design : Foundation, Backbone and
The Household DNA Parenting Pyramid is a system. No one principle (like DNA nucleotides) is to be deliberated in isolation.

Don Eckerle of the German Genealogy Group (GGG) and John Martino of the Italian Genealogy Group (IGG) join Jane this morning to talk about the mammoth indexing projects their groups took on when they decided to tackle Long Island records and then New York City vital records and then NARA NYC records and then some more. Don and John will discuss what records they have done, what records they intend to do, and what the differences in their groups' databases are. They will also tell us how they manage their indexing projects with more than 2,000 volunteers. John and Don are pictured with the other New York attendees at the NGS conference in Richmond, Virginia. They are all members and volunteers for the GGG and IGG indexing projects.
An Embarrassment of Riches - The Wealth DNA radio show is dedicated to helping you increase your wealth, as well as educating and informing savers & investors. Entrepreneurs and investors are by nature optimists. If we weren't optimistic, we wouldn't risk our time and capital, neither financial nor intellectual on uncertain ventures. On the other hand, we're bombarded daily by bad news from every media outlet and from naysayers, thus challenging our natural optimism. Is the glass half empty, half full, or merely twice as large as it needs to be?
Are we living in an era plagued by the Chinese curse: "May you live in interesting times"? We seem to be surrounded by riots, revolutions, wars, hatred, threats of war, and dysfunctional governments. There are outcries for those who worked hard and succeeded to "spread the wealth" to help those less fortunate. So we've invitedAlexander Green to join us and share his refreshing perspective. Alexander Green is the Chief Investment Strategist of The Oxford Club and Investment U. He is the author of "An Embarrassment of Riches" and 3 other best selling books on investing, as well as editor of 3 investment newsletters.
The financial markets are rising to record highs, while the world is in turmoil. Is this an indication that investors are out of sync with the real world? Can this bull market continue to stampede despite all the bad news? What can we expect over the next 1, 5 or 20 years? For the answers to these and many more questions, get a cup of coffee, or glass of wine and join in the conversation …
Join Bonnie & Ja'Vonne with their guest, Tony Burroughs, CEO of The Center for Black Genealogy, noted speaker and author. Together they will look at how to research your family history and how to travel with a purpose as you research your own Family Tree. Also keep up on Travel News, Travel Tips, and all the features of this top weekly Travel Show. Heard nationwide on Sirius/XM #141 and WVON-Chicago and iHeartRadio.com. www.TheTavelingEye.com . #TheTravelingEye
Africa the Next Frontier? - The Wealth DNA radio show is dedicated to helping you increase your wealth, as well as educating savers & investors. During this show we'll talk about opportunities on a continent most investors never even consider. And when they hear the idea, they merely ask: Do they have financial markets in Africa? Are there already publicly traded companies with a track record? Will I be able to buy their shares through my investment advisor? Are many multi-national companies setting up operations in Africa?
We've asked Robert Scharar the Senior International Fund Manager of the Commonwealth Funds, and President of FCA Corp. to come back and share what opportunities he saw that led to the creation of the Africa Fund. Was it because it was indeed the next investment frontier? Was China's massive investments on that continent a driver? Or is it because the developed markets have reached their peak? So prepare your questions, grab a cup of coffee, or glass of wine and join the conversation …
Emily Aulicino, author of Genetic Genealogy: The Basics and Beyond, will join Jane this evening. Emily will explain some of the foundations of DNA testing for genealogy, discuss the purposes of the different DNA tests, and talk about some of the features the three main autosomal DNA testing companies (23andMe, AncestryDNA, and Family Tree DNA/FTDNA) offer to aid genealogists. She'll give us an overview of her book, telling us what we'll discover, and most importantly, she'll give us some examples of how DNA testing solved genealogical mysteries.

Off-shoring Operations & Banking - The Wealth DNA radio show is dedicated to helping you increase your wealth, as well as educating and informing savers & investors. If you heard the introduction to our last show on Asset Protection, you know I'm not a happy US Citizen lately. The US government keeps adding new regulations to complicate life for citizens with financial dealings overseas.
More US citizens are renouncing their citizenship, and the US government is adding regulations to stop them from opening new bank accounts. Some are just putting up with the added bureaucracy, and others are taking a totally different approach. They're building on a trend that has been expanding for the last 40 years in our global village - outsourcing. Companies and businesses are "off-shoring" their operations and banking either despite of, or maybe because of these growing regulations.
Is this a trend that could help enhance your business profitability, or build your wealth? We will ask Jack A. Bass our special guest to share why he sees this approach worth considering. Our listeners may remember him as the author of "The Gold Investor's Handbook" and "The Apprentice Millionaire Portfolio" (which is true). Jack A. Bass is also one of Canada's top ranked economists, and a manages a consulting company. He is focusing more of his time now on Outsourcing and Offshoring, for both businesses and individuals. Is this an idea which might make sense for you? What are some of the key benefits for businesses? Benefits for individuals? How are the increasing government regulations affecting the advantages and risks? For the answers to these and many more questions, get a cup of coffee, or glass of wine and join in the conversation …
