ARE THE WORLD'S YOUTH FORGOTTEN?
Today's broadcast segment of Empowering Men examines the plight of youth around the world. During the dialogue we will contrast the state of youth living in second and third world countries with that of the United States.
Many of the world's youth are economically and socially exploited, illiterate, classified as internally displaced persons, forced to become child soldiers in war torn nations, employed by drug cartels or participating in criminal activities, engaged in prostitution, homeless, or existing in abject poverty without parental influence.
Today's guest is Mr. Furkat Lutfulloev, a citizen of Tajikistan, which is a former Soviet Republic. He is studying for a Masters Degree at Washington University, School of Social Work, with specialization in Social and Economic Development. Currently, he is conducting his practicum/internship at UNICEF HQ and at the Forestdale organization in New York which is focused on Foster Care programs.
The host for Empowering Men is Dr. Thomas Ryer, Executive Director of Public Affairs / Advocacy for the Men's Empowerment Network. He also serves as the President of Transitioning into Society.
