Teaching Children Difficult Concepts: Amber Housey
When Amber Housey was a teacher, she was always trying to find ways to teach difficult concepts to her students. Teaching empathy, kindness and compassion can be abstract concepts for children to learn. Amber discovered the children could see themselves and easily understand difficult concepts through engaging stories of adventure through another person’s point of view. Hence, the birth of Flip Side Stories. She is an Amazon Bestseller, winner of the Young Voices Award, the Mom’s Choice Award, and won book of the year by Creative Child Magazine. Flip Side Stories teaches about the homeless, kindness to animals, losing something, giving, writing to soldiers and self-perception, bullying, and much more. Each story inspires children to love the learning process and unlock their own creativity.
The Flipsiders are a World Family who lives on the Flip Side. They appreciate different points of view. try to walk in someone else's shoes to understand them better. They love that everyone is so different in their appearances, their cultures & rituals, their limitations and uniquenesse's. They are open to new experiences, new friends and new emotions.

Raising Moral Children vs. a Future Prison Inmate.
Jordana Carroll Interviews Dr. Judy Cook (Psychiatrist)
Two young brothers recently set off bombs in Boston killing or maiming multiple innocent bystanders... including some children.
Not long before that; a heavily armed 20 year old man dressed in black fatigues walked into a Connecticut elementary school and opened fire. Within minutes, 26 people were dead at Sandy Hook Elementary School -- 20 of them children.
We look upon individuals who commit these crimes with scathing judgement, but how many mothers secretly worry if their own child may wind up heading down a similar path?
Today, Jordana Carroll will interview highly respected Psychiatrist, Dr. Judy Cook. Dr. Cook has over 30 years of experience working with patients to bring order to chaotic thoughts. She has extensive experience observing why some children grow up to be moral productive adults, vs. those who don't.
Is the question really about Nature vs. Nurture? Or are there some things that we as mothers are doing inadvertantly to cultivate a psychopath?
Dr. Cook will look closely at provocotive questions having to do with common parenting techniques that may be causing your child harm, and you don't even know it. Then there are some parenting techniques the parent knows to be questionable, but are in a state of denial in how much damage they are causing.
This show is a "must listen" for anyone who is a parent. The repercussions of not taking certain actions now, could echo for generations to come.
