The Bully Proof Classroom Speaks With Dan Haight
Join Jim in The Bully Proof Classroom as he speaks with Daniel Haight. Dan is an emerging science fiction novelist with many published short stories. A native of the San Francisco Bay Area, he is equal parts 'geek' and 'blue collar' with a love for science fiction, emerging technology and working with his hands. Dan has been writing stories since he was 12, but began writing professionally after he 'gave it a try' and found that people enjoyed his work. As a single parent, he works as a lowly IT guy during the day and writes in his off-hours. Let's hear Dan's perspective on bullying and about his new book "Flotilla" which you can view here.

The Bully Proof Classroom Speaks With Patti Blount
A Native New Yorker Patty Blount writes software technical guides by day and novels at night. She finished her first novel, a hockey dad murder mystery called Penalty Killer, on a dare by her oldest son. Though never published Penalty Killer was the subject of so many book reports, the seventh grade teacher requested a copy and later returned it, covered in red corrections. Patty did better with Send(Sourcebooks Fire, Aug, 2012), a story about a cyberbully coming to terms with the suicide he caused. A short version of this novel earned a top ten finish in the Writer’s Digest 79 Annual Writing Competition. Her second novel, TMI, comes out this August and is about two girls whose friendship unravels after one posts a secret online.
She realizes most bullying takes place in schools, but she stands firm that this is not a school-only problem. and parents have to step up and take some responsibility for raising kids who don't turn their backs on violence. "Our generation has raised children with a profound sense of entitlement and very little compassion." Visit her at: www.pattyblount.com
