Representing The ATL, vocalist (opera/jazz/poetry) artist, writer, Dia Scott is DEFINITELY BRINGING THE HEAT! A cancer surviver & being told by the doctor not to sing for an entire year, Dia went silent for 11 years. Then told, by a former employer that she needed to sing, Dia prayed about it & found a producer in her city that could orchestrate anything she threw at him. Byb Chanel Bibene joins us to speak about "Taboo and Heroes," a multi-media work that addresses the reality and consequences of violence and corruption through the specific experience of the war that overtook the Republic of Congo in the late 1990's. In this piece Bibene narrates his personal experiences, as a survival, in which hope was the only strength for survival. Bringing together dance and theater performers, an original music score, set design and video elements, the piece aims to transport the audience into the charged atmosphere of conflict that permeated, and still echoes in everyday life in the Republic of Congo. Taboos is Sept. 27, 8 p.m. at Zaccho Theatre, 1777 Yosemite Ave., San Francisco. Lydia (Dia) Crabtree is a minister, author, and pagan activist. She has led a team to create PaganPro.org, website dedicated to sharing information regarding style, background and even abuser/predator behaviors of speakers, presenters and leaders in the Pagan community.
"Pagan Pro is a freemium modeled web based service. Pagan community members can create an account with an email and password and have limited access to the information contained in the Pagan Pro databases. There will be a leveled membership which will allow greater access to the information in the Pagan Pro database and other perks of membership by users. Pagan Pro charges membership to offset the cost of running this not for profit organization.
Pagan Pro will invite leaders to join PaganPro.org and create a profile. This profile will require leaders to answer a series of survey questions that are based upon previous surveys given by Pagan Pro and reflect the information the community has indicated it desires to know. Some answers to the survey questions will be available to all users of the site while membership will permit complete access to information in the Pagan Pro database."
This evening we'll be discussing the happenings of 2014, and the possible happenings in 2015. It's going to be a wildride. JOIN US!
