Floyd Mayweather invented that whole #TBE hashtag, but does he have exclusive rights on it? For instance, can we borrow it here, while specifically intending to not use it to describe this past weekend's Showtime card? We're having our secretaries look into it. This week on TQBR Radio, Bad Left Hook's James Foley and Patrick Connor of Queensberry Rules recap the miserable eyesore/earsore/soulsore that was headlined by Danny Garcia vs Rod Salka. Joining the show this week is ESPN's Brian Campbell. Oh, don't worry. There will be plenty of room to trash Lamont Peterson vs Edgar Santana and Daniel Jacobs vs Jarrod Fletcher, too, all the while working up to a preview of this weekend's Shawn Porter vs Kell Brook tripleheader on Showtime. Thanks for tuning in!
On today's show we will break down and debate Porter vs Brook. Unbeaten IBF Welterweight World Champion Shawn “Showtime” Porter, undefeated contender Kell Brook and seven other boxers who will compete on this Saturday’s stacked Golden Boy Promotions’ fight card at StubHub Center in Carson, Calif.,
Kell Brook 32(22)-0 has been assuring his UK faithful that it’s “his time” for a while now. Our patience has inevitably thinned a little within this waiting period. Alongside evidence tipping toward proof, teasing the potential within that fans have been promised, were also levels of competition not befitting of a man demonstrating his arsenal of skills.
The injuries smudging the potential meeting with Alexander, setbacks both men were guilty of introducing, genuine or otherwise. What seemed like an overabundance of filler bouts and title eliminators, alongside questions surrounding Brooks love for the sport. All the above had us quietly musing to ourselves, (lest we were accused of insidious unpatriotic tendencies) if the said proclaimed “time” Kell continuously warned opponents of, would ever come around. There's an ebb and flow to the type of match ups we get in boxing. The sport may not be seasonal, as the NFL, NBA, MLB, and so forth are, but boxing comes and goes -- like most things. 2013 was mostly excellet, and so far 2014 has been lame. This past week wasn't a particularly strong one either, with Kell Brook taking an often-tedious decision over Shawn Porter, Anthony Dirrell tumbling about to a win over Sakio Bika, and Omar Figueroa making things somewhat worthwhile with an emphatic stoppage of Daniel Estrada on Showtime. This week on TQBR Radio, Bad Left Hook's James Foley and Patrick Connor of Queensberry Rules will talk about all of that stuff, plus the Showtime Extreme undercard and what Jorge Linares and Deontay Wilder were doing on there, Austin Trout's return, and other boxing news. Thanks for tuning in!

Amir Khan and Devon Alexander are set to fight on December 13 on Showtime, on the same night Timothy Bradley squares off against Diego Chaves on HBO. When two opposing networks air a bout at the same time, its statistically proven to drop ratings significantly.
De La Hoya told Kevin Iole of Yahoo Sports, “[Airing both fights at the same time] couldn’t be avoided, so there will be different start times. I’ve talked to HBO about it. I’ve talked to [Top Rank president] Todd duBoef about it. I’ve talked to Showtime. We have so many dates and so many fighters, this couldn’t be avoided, but the good thing is, we’re giving the fans a great show and that’s the most important thing.”
