The First Deist Reason Center
by God Discussion in Religion
Tags: World Union of Deists Tim Wingate Deist Reason Center Vietnam Vets Against the War Paul Mopps
He helped found the organization, Vietnam Vets Against the War.
He struggled with religious belief for years, breaking away from the Lutheran church when he was 13, dabbling in a bit of this and a bit of that – finding that everything fell short because of the wishful, magical thinking that was taught.
But then Paul Mopps discovered Deism. “Everything clicked into place,” he explains to the World Union of Deists’ host Tim Wingate in this pre-recorded show, “and everything else fell by the wayside.”
Mopps is now something of an “evangelist for Deism.” He’s got Deism.com bumper stickers on his mailbox, on the front door, on his trash can and vehicles, even on his Harley Davidson motorcycle.
Paul has also opened the first Deist Reason Center in Washington State.
The Deist Reason Center will be open on most weekends. Nestled in a rustic setting, with a grill and picnic table on the premises, Tim Wingate jokes, “Just BYOB and BYOM – that’s bring your own Bible and bring your own meat.”
Learn more at the World Union of Deists’ website. And for a schedule of upcoming shows, be sure to visit GodDiscussion.net.
