EP205 Debut Romance Author Catherine Herzog Joins Kori on the Back Porch

    in Writing

Cat Herzog began writing as a teen to have a way of dealing with a turbulent childhood, afraid someone might read what she journaled, she fictionalized it so no one would know she was talking about herself.  Those stories turned into what would become The Key to Her Heart, but it would take another thirty years before she published The Key to Her Heart.  Now she is working on the sequel Patrick's Rose.

About the book: The Key to Her Heart (The Heart of a Family Book 1)

As Anna's life spirals deeper into the abyss she doesn’t know how to escape, Patrick may be the only thing standing between her and complete destruction.

In her quest to achieve her dreams, Anna becomes a successful model in California in the early seventies and attracts the unwanted attention of powerful, ruthless, Matthew Wolffe, the eldest son of the fashion world’s biggest tycoon. His attention twists into a dark obsession-- Not just harming, but distributing abuse beyond Anna’s worst nightmares. Patrick Rueschel is the boy she left back home when she ran away. His love promises new life.

Between her dark secrets in California and her father’s vow of revenge on The Rueschel family years before when she was a teen, Anna realizes there is no way for Patrick to be part of her life.

As the stakes are driven ever higher, she must choose the dream she wants to pursue and what cost she is willing to pay. Meanwhile, Matthew plays a dangerous game of cat and mouse that threatens to find her no matter where she may run.

Is Patrick's love strong enough to save her? Or must she run away once more—and leave everything behind?

The Author Chat Show with Lynda D. Brown

    in Books

Meet author Lyric Benson Ferguson. She's stopping by the Author Chat show to 'chat' about her new book, French Kissing God: A Journey to Enlightenment.

    About the book:

French Kissing God brings a message of peace, love and Divine-realization while awakening the hearts of anyone seeking a truly mystical existence. The book’s exuberant, pulsating, passionate and visceral verses are the hallmark of author Lyric Benson Fergusson, whose words let us join her on a journey to enlightenment—from the beginning days when she was seeking God to experiences of unimaginable Divine Union and bliss. This powerful collection successfully brings the concept of piety back “down to Earth” in the modern-day playground of spiritual awakening.

French Kissing God: A Journey to Enlightenment has been endorsed by bestselling authors: Oriah Mountain Dreamer, Jeff Brown, Marci Shimoff, Barnet Bain, Dr. Norman Rosenthal and many others.

    About the author:

Lyric first emerged from almost a decade of studying consciousness and enlightenment to create her debut album Lyric’s Love Light Revolution, co-produced by her father, actor/director Robby Benson, and her singer/songwriter mother, Karla DeVito. The album is a celebration of Lyric’s wildly eccentric journey into the throes of divine love. All of her lyrics were inspired by and taken directly from the poetry she composed over these very unconventional spiritual years.

    Author Suzanna Linton: Clara's Return

    in Books

Suzanna Linton is an alumni of the South Carolina Governor’s School for the Arts and Humanities (summer program), college grad with a degree in English, wife, animal lover, and author.

She began writing when as little girl. At first, it was poetry but that led to novels. Anne McCaffrey’s Dragonriders of Pern are what made her want to be an author. McCaffrey showed her that women don’t have to be shrinking violets to be in a novel or be a complete goody-goody to be the hero. She grew up in rural South Carolina and continues to live there, in slightly-less-rural Florence. Every now and again, her husband has to remind her they can’t afford more pets. She sobbed like a brokenhearted child when she killed her Betta fish by accident. She loves coffee.
