From 2012 to 2014 Ms. Mendez was the President of the National Organization for Women, New York State (NOW-NYS), the first woman of color to hold the position. Ms. Mendez has also worked at NOW’s National Office as well as with elected officials including former NYC Mayor David Dinkins and US Representative Charles B. Rangel. She also served with the New York City Human Rights Commission under Commissioner Dennis de Leon. Ms. Mendez has served on boards of West Harlem Environmental Action, Committee for Hispanic Families and Children and the National Latino Alliance for the Elimination of Domestic Violence. Throughout her career, Ms. Mendez has advocated extensively on issues affecting women, including equal pay, reproductive rights, access to education, affordable childcare, affordable housing, and economic, racial and environmental justice issues. Born in the Dominican Republic, Ms. Mendez Mendez earned a BA in Government and Public Administration from John Jay College of Criminal Justice and an MA in Public Administration from the City University of New York, Graduate School of Public Affairs…hello Ms. Mendez how are you?.

    *The Pageant Hour* Miss USA 2003 Susie Castillo

    On March 24, 2003, Susie Castillo was crowned Miss USA in front of millions in a nationally televised live event from San Antonio, Texas.  Representing Massachusetts as its first Latina titleholder, she also was the first Miss USA with Dominican-Puerto Rican ancestry.  In May 2003, Susie travelled to Panama City, Panama to compete in the Miss Universe pageant.  Placing as a Top 15 semi-finalist, her national costume was the appropriately chosen "Wonder Woman".


    After her reign as Miss USA, Susie has been quite busy with everything from appearing on On Air with Ryan Seacreat to co-hosting the Miss Teen USA pageant.  She has so many accolades like the above-mentioned that it would be impossible to mention them all here.


    One of her most recent and exciting projects is an endeavor that is in conjunction with Miss USA 2004 Shandi Finnessey.  She is the co-founder of Pageantology which is a pageant coaching company that provides workshops and private coaching to pageant contestants.

    Danny Castillo, Luis Palomino, Lloyd Woodard and Thiago Alves on Tonight

    Tonight on Alchemist Radio, your host Bryan Levick will talk to four talented fighters. One who is coming off a huge win, two who have  big fights coming up and another who is battling back from an injury,


    UFC lightweight Danny Castillo will face Tony Ferguson in the co-main event of UFC 177 on August 30th. Castillo is coming off an impressive 2nd round knockout victory over Charlie Brenneman at UFC on Fox: Johnson vs. Benavidez 2. This fight will be his 19th under the Zuffa umbrella.


    World Series of Fighting lightweight Luis "The Baboon" Palomino scored a vicious first round knockout via headkick over Lewis Gonzalez this past Saturday at WSOF 12 in Las Vegas. The win was his second in as many fights for the WSOF and may have earned him a title shot against Justin Gaethje.


    Lloyd "Cupcake" Woodard will make his Titan FC debut on August 22nd at The Crown Coliseum in a featherweight title eliminator against Kurt Holobaugh. Woodard has a 13-4 record and competed for Bellator in their lightweight tournaments. He will be making his featherweight debut against Holobaugh in a bout that will be televised on The CBS Sports Network.


    Thiago Alves spent 777 days on the sidelines before making a succesful comeback against Seth Baczynski in a Fight of the Night performance on the Fox: Werdum vs. Browne card on April 19th. The one time UFC welterweight challenger faced George St, Pierre for the UFC welterweight title at the historic UFC 100 card in July of 2009. He is currently rehabbing another knee injury, but expects to be back by the end of the year,

    Mr. Castillo is an accomplished actor/writer/director, Enrique began his career with Luis Valdez’s Teatro Campesino in 1969.   


    In 1978 Enrique made the move to Hollywood and was cast in the hit play Zoot Suit, created and directed by Luis Valdez.  Since then he has appeared in over 50 television shows and feature films.


    Veteranos: A Legacy of Valor pays homage to the countless Latinos who have fought and died in America’s defense highlighting the stories of four American heroes.  


    The full-length production highlights the stories of 4 American heroes and the Memorial Day performances focus on one story, the one of Eugene Arnold Obregon.


    In commemoration of American veterans on Memorial Day, Latin Heat Entertainment will present Veteranos: A Legacy of Valor, a theatrical tribute written & directed by actor/writer Enrique Castillo.
