    EGUA - Marketplace: Apoo & the Behavioral Cycle: You Harvest What You Cultivate

    in Education

    In this episode of EGUA - Marketplace, we continue with part 2 of our examination of our 13-day APOO observance (March 12-24) and the relationship between the vernal equinox, fertility and economic activity.

    We examine the reality that the unfolding of our behavior as it relates to a thing, object, entity, deed, condition, event, issue, dilemma, etc. is an orderly, cyclical process. This cyclical process is related to the yearly cycle including the balancing points of the equinoxes. Our awareness of the behavioral cycle affords us the ability to identify, anticipate and purge ourselves of negative conditionings. We are then able to make proper decisions regarding Afurakani/Afuraitkaitnit (African) male and female relationships, productivity and economics in the context of Amansesew - Nationbuilding/Restoration. Your harvest what you cultivate.

    How to Cultivate Confidence & Habits of Confident People

    in Radio

    Confidence. It’s highly coveted and often elusive. We dedicate time and energy to cultivating the feeling so we can tap into it when we need it at work, on dates, during tough family conversations, and more. Sir Edmund Hillary, first man to reach the summit of Mount Everest, famously said, It is not the mountain we conquer but ourselves. The dictionary defines confidence as having a feeling or belief that you can do something well or succeed at something; feeling certain that something will happen or that something is true. Therefore, confidence is not simply a feeling that things will go well but also a judgment on our own or others' abilities. When the abilities in question are our own, having confidence suggests a high level of self-assurance. Confidence is often the only difference between people who get what they want and people who don't. Those who think and believe they can do something, whatever it is, just do it. Our mind is a powerful tool, and the impact of our thoughts and words cannot be underestimated. Our thoughts create our emotions. Our emotions create our actions. Our actions create our life. Confident people have more control over their minds and have tuned their mental station to Yes I Can. Life Coach Jenn A. Nocera and I will discuss some effective ways to cultivate confidence and examine habits of confident people. After the show, please check After Hours at Jersey Coastal Live for more info.

    Mind Health Matters with Dr Bernie Siegel

    Wheelchair Wisdom with Author Linda Noble Topf

    An MS patient since 1981 and an advocate for disability rights, Linda Noble Topf has been an ordained minister since 1984, a spiritual and wellness coach, professional speaker, design and marketing entrepreneur, wife of 34 years, and a published author. She is dedicated to assisting others in seeing that chronic illness, debilitating injury, or any kind of adversity in any stage of life, can be viewed as a spiritual awakening, and an opportunity for personal growth.

    Linda has lived with illness for over 30 years, but her intrinsic inner health has taught her that dealing with illness means more than getting rid of it. Linda has a natural inclination toward growth; so rather than forcing transformation to happen because of her physical challenges, she created ideal conditions for natural transformation to thrive. She identified key qualities she could focus on and strengthen/cultivate within herself, and used these core strengths to bring forth for herself a new transformational, creative experience of self-expression. http://wheelchairwisdom.com/

    The Interpersonal Connection ~ Spiritual Enrichment ~

    in Spirituality

    Inspirational and Encouraging Words of Wisdom, Spirit and Life To You! ABOUT SPIRITUALITY If spirituality can be considered a movement, it is one of the fastest-growing in the world, and one of our most talked-about topics. Perhaps it is because it has the power to be a conduit for self-definition, born of an inner longing to cultivate a purposeful life and a deeper connection to the universe. There are hundreds of interviews featuring world-renowned professors, holistic health professionals and authors, like famed New Ager Deepak Chopra, and spiritual certified life coaches like Bishop Matthew A. Barber. You are able to converse with kindred spirits journeying along on how they pursue higher levels of consciousness, through light, energy, angels, prophecies, alternative medicine, pilgrimages and more. Unlike some religions, spirituality allows for interpretation: your third-eye awakening could manifest in the calm that comes from spending time in meditation, practicing yoga, preparing a sustainable meal. Yes, there are also plenty of other means to help nourish your mind, body, soul and spirit.

    Diane Latiker & Bill Duke - Exclusive Interview- Thur, May 28, 2015 - 6pm PST

    in Radio

    KIDS OF THE BLOCK, INC. (KOB) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit incorporated in the state of Illinois. Founded in 2003 by Diane Latiker, she opened her home to youth in her community to help them steer away from the negative influences they saw daily. KOB, has it is known, began to work with youth, teens, and young adults ages 12-24 years old. After speaking with the young people about their issues and concerns, she offered them homework help, mentoring, activities and a "safe place". Her work with youth emphasized self-development that would lead to change. Through individual meetings and group discussions new recruits were encouraged to assess their current situation, identify skills and a knowledge base needed to achieve the goals they have targeted. Starting out with ten youth from the neighborhood, almost 12 years later, KOB has serviced over 2,000 participants since it's inception.

    The “at-risk” youth are involved in Health Workshops, Cultural Events, Educational Tutoring and celebrations in their honor for achievements and participation.  The density and variety of programming invites these youngsters to come “off the streets” and become engaged in events that are conducted in a safe and caring environment.

    The organization’s key objectives are:

    To create a positive environment where youth can feel free to be creative;

    To provide exposure to other cultures, ethnic groups, communities, and activities;

    To work with each youth as an individual to promote continued positive development;

    To cultivate skills and meet the needs of the young people we serve;

    To celebrate their accomplishments.

    Cultivating Spirituality in Children

    in Lifestyle

    There is so much to talk about when it comes to spirituality. Which ofcourse means that we reached out to expert Dr. Rosie Kuhn for a third time!  Luckily for all of us, she agreed to continue our conversation which we started with her multiple shows ago. This time she will help us address questions like:

    What is spirituality?

    Why is this an important topic for parents, grandparents, and for all of us?

    What are some ways to clarify values for ourselves and our children?

    How can we be in the world in such a way that children will follow our lead, and cultivate within themselves spiritual values and competencies?
