Washington Nationals' right-hander Max Scherzer struck out 13 batters, Bryce Harper homered again and the Nats beat the Chicago Cubs 3-0 to take two out of three in Wrigley Field and improve to 28-19 on the year.
Denard Span homered in the first at bat of the game and Wilson Ramos hit another one out in the sixth as the Washington Nationals took the series opener from the Chicago Cubs in Wrigley Field. Tanner Roark was solid in a spot start for the Nats.

The Chicago Cubs announced yesterday that they sent 3 of their young prospects to the minors. Team President Theo Epstein explained his reasons for doing so, but assured media and fans that all 3 players will have big roles for the Cubs moving forward. We're down to four teams in the NCAA Tournament, and three #1 seeds have made it through. Tonight I'll give my preview of one of the two matchups: Kentucky vs. Wisconsin in a rematch of last year's semifinal round. The Blackhawks got much needed wins on back to back nights against two Western Conference contenders, and things are getting very tight in the standings with 6 games left in the regular season. The Bulls, meanwhile, had a solid wire-to-wire victory over the lowly New York Knicks on Saturday, and have won 5 of 6. With the team in solid form, Derrick Rose has rejoined the team in full-contact practices, though Bulls head coach Tom Thibodeau is still not committing to a specific return date.
