Join Crafty & Bax as they dissect and discuss news, issues, events and the people involved on all sides. Politics, economics, history, social issues, religion, entertainment, media, music, comedy, technology....from the serious to the sublime, from around the globe to around the corner, the Front Row Boys don't shy away from anything. Our modest goals here are to ask the tough questions, discover the truth as best we possibly can, pass that on you the listener and whenever possible, talk to as many of you good freaks out there that we can. When we say, "join us for the discussion", we mean it! What we want most during this podcast is to hear from all of you and what's going on in your part of this thing we call the Freak Show.
Along the way we'll play plenty of great clips not just from the people making the news or front and center of the issues but those behind the scenes as well. We also like to mix it up each and every week by getting a groove on with a song and having a few laughs with some comedy.
So, Tune In, Peace Out & Get That Freak On!!!
For G_d, For Country, For Freedom.
(Now your nightmare comes to life)
Dragged ya down below
Down to the devil's show
To be his guest forever
(Peace of mind is less than never)
Hate to twist your mind
But God ain't on your side
And old acquaintance severed
(Burn the world your last endeavor)
Flesh is burning
You can smell it in the air
Cause men like you have
Such an easy soul to steal (steal)
So stand in line while
They ink numbers in your head
You're now a slave
Until the end of time here
Nothing stops the madness,
Turning, haunting, yearning
Pull the trigger
You should have known
The price of evil
And it hurts to know
That you belong here, yeah
Ooh, it's your fuckin' nightmare
On this episode of The Freak Show, Ryan and Holly are joined by Josh Detwiler of Translating Phantoms.
Ever since I was a little kid I’ve always been into the paranormal. I can remember watching shows like Unsolved Mysteries and my favorite episodes were always the ones about ghosts and UFOs. Even though they scared the crap out of me, I couldn’t stop watching. The question of “do ghosts exist” has never really been a question for me. I have always believed. Growing up I played a lot of sports, I was involved in things that were more “the norm” for most people, but I was always drawn to the paranormal, it was always in the back of my mind. My teachers would get frustrated with me because the only books I wanted to read were things like Goosebumps and the Scary Stories series, I could never get into any of the books we were required to read. As I got older the paranormal still stuck with me, the ghost hunting shows started to pop up and I couldn’t help but watch them every time they were on. After watching those for so many years one day the thought just popped into my head that it was time to quit relying on TV and it was time to find out if this stuff was for real for myself, so I jumped in head first, investigating anywhere I thought could be haunted.
Now that I have years of investigating under my belt I do have some answers, but it seems the more I investigate the more questions I end up having. I always keep an open mind and remind myself every chance I get that even though I have my own opinions about the paranormal, I could be wrong. The only thing that is 100% fact in the paranormal is that nothing is 100% fact. None of us really know what is on the other side or what the other side really is. Always seek the truth and more importantly always question those who claim to have found it, trust no one, not even me, and research everything for yourself.

The Elephant man was more than a freak...he was a human being who had a name, and his name was Joseph Carey Merrick. Here is a little bit about him:Joseph Merrick was born on August 5, 1862 in Leicester to Mary Jane and Joseph Rockley Merrick. He had a younger brother and sister and was completely normal until the age of three. In an autobiographical note which appeared on the reverse side of his freak show pamphlet,
It was later discovered that Merrick's disorder was caused by what we today call Neurofibromatosis; Merrick's was NF1.
·NF has been classified into three distinct types; NF1, NF2 and schwannomatosis. They are caused by different genes, located on different chromosomes.
·NF1 is the most common neurological disorder caused by a single gene; occurring in one in every 3,000 children born.
·NF2 is a rarer type, occurring in 1:25,000 people worldwide.
·While today there is no consensus, studies indicate that schwannomatosis occurs in 1:40,000 people.
·The Neurofibromatoses are genetically-determined disorders which affect more than 2 million people worldwide; this makes NF more prevalent than cystic fibrosis.
