Call in tonight as we talk about Saints and Saint Expedite !
Saint Expedite is the patron of those who hope for rapid solutions to problems, who wish to avoid or put an end to delays, and who want general financial success. His aid is also sought by those who wish to overcome procrastination as a personal bad habit, as well as by shop-keepers and sailors. His feast day is April 19.
Expedite is typically depicted as a young Roman centurion holding aloft a cross marked HODIE ("today" in Latin) and squashing a crow beneath his right foot. Out of the dying crow's mouth issues a word-ribbon, CRAS ("tomorrow" in Latin). Thus Expedite destroys a vague tomorrow in favour of a definite today. In a recent forum, Treasury and HUD hosted a conference on The Future of Housing Finance. Stakeholders from across the industry participated and shared a diverse set of perspectives. The goal is to deliver a comprehensive housing reform proposal by January 2011. But for the minority community, there is much at stake here as discussions veer toward the future of the GSEs and possibly CRAs, which would affect access to credit for underserved borrowers. Getting the right reform measures in place is critical for Hispanics, Blacks & Asian consumers. Tune in for this discussion with special guests: Armando Falcon, NAHREP Policy Advisor and Political Consultant; Jim Park, President of AREAA/New Vista; Tom Deutsch, Executive Director of the American Securitization Forum.

When Barack Obama announced he would be running for President in 2007, Canada-raised, India-born Mira Veda (ck) admits she was not instantly impressed. Little did she know it would be the President’s encouraging words to her during one fateful meeting just years later that would define the direction of one of the most important albums of her musical career to date.
“A friend of mine who raised money for Barack’s campaign introduced us when he came to San Francisco and I stood there unimpressed, But one of the first things he said to me was, ‘We are one.’ I thought, ‘Wow, that’s the sentiment I’ve always had -- we are all connected by a thread’.”
It’s the same message Mira hopes to convey with her upcoming sophomore album, “Love Again,” to be released on October 10, 2010 independently.
To do so, Mira is taking the sound of “Love Again” a step further from her 2003 (ck) debut, “Infinite Love” -- which she describes as a soulful R&B album -- by infusing the Rhythm and Blues sound with traditional and modern Indian influences.
“On my first album, I didn’t explore as much -- I really didn’t create that fusion between the worlds. But on this new album, I feel like I have totally let loose in terms of exploring myself as an artist and going places I was too shy to go to on my first album,” says Mira.
To help achieve this sound, Mira’s tapped on producers/songwriters (ck) Carvin Haggans (ck) and Ivan Barris (ck) from Karma Productions (Jill Scott, Will Smith, Jazmine Sullivan); Logan James (ck), formerly from ‘American Idol’ fame; Cras Kali (ck), who she recorded with in her native India; and Shawn Nixman (ck), an Indian Punjabi rapper.
Not to overwhelm listeners, the first single off “Love Again,” to be released on July 30th, is a more standard R&B track titled “Captivated.”
