Kat talks with Donna Morin, M.Ed, CHHC nutrition wizard and founder of Better Off Well about her own personal health journey. Donna is a passionate advocate for healthy eating and lifestyle. We will also discuss why making healthy choices can seem like an act of courage in our society at a personal, local and global level.
Got a question? Donna and I would love to hear from you. Call in live and Donna can share her expertise with you.
Donna Morin knows what it’s like to not feel well. Having lived through severe asthma attacks, seasonal and food allergies, cervical cancer, weight gain, and debilitating back pain, she understands how illness can affect moods, relationships, and work performance. But what Donna has learned, through years of research and her own personal health journey, is that we have control over our health. Illness is not the mystery we are led to believe it is, and science is proving that genetic expression is largely influenced by our lifestyle habits.
Donna Morin is an AADP-certified health coach and founder of Better Off Well. As a mother and former elementary teacher, she understands the demands placed on parents that often make it difficult to feed a family within time and budget constraints. As a writer, she shares information about relevant wellness topics through her monthly published wellness column, various parenting publications, and her own website http://betteroffwell.com .

Courage My Love - Canadian Rock Band..New Ep "Becoming" Out Now...Out this summer on the Vans Warped Tour 2014..Headed out w/ Fefe Dobson on her Canadian run of tour dates in March...Nominated for Juno Award...Check out their music & more @ www.facebook.com/ilovecouragemylove
You may remember the three smiling faces of our pals in Courage My Love from our July/August 2013 cover. We took a risk putting an up-and-coming band front-and-centre, but our staff and contributors have a lot of faith that this young trio is armed with all of the goods - talent, drive, and business savvy - to make a real impact in the Canadian music industry. They've done right by themselves (and us) since then, landing a JUNO nod for New Group of the Year, landing some dates on the almighty Vans Warped Tour, and released their EP "Becoming" through Warner Music Canada. We'll talk about what's next for the band, leading up to the release of their full-length, which is sure to elevate them to another new plateau.
We also have eOne Music Canada's Secret Broadcast, whose new LP "Filthy Souls" was recorded at Robert Lang Studios in Seattle, WA with Grammy Award-winning Producer Adam Kasper (Foo Fighters, Queens of the Stone Age, Nirvana) and mastered by Bob Ludwig (David Bowie, Paul McCartney, Rolling Stones). That interview culminates in an exclusive performance of the band's song "More Than Friends." Tune in and give it a listen.
Ah, love... falling in love is so blissful. Everything is enchanting, and life seems grand. But, one day you realize that the person is flawed, just like you. What do you do? You try to change the person, you bitch and complain, and you do all the things rather than what is really needed; Get rid of the person.
Ok, maybe that was a bit harsh. WE don't have to separate, at least not permanently.

Courage and Self-Esteem,
This is a subject that many talk about yet few people have within them. Fear is a funny thing as many people seem to fail by default. Each person has a number of great and amazing skills and abilities yet few people ever realize their abilities. Each day you operate in faith yet many people would rather be average then be what is in them by living to their real potential. You have to have the courage to live your own life and live it to the fullest.
You are gifted please share your gift for it you do not you are cheating the world and yourself. The human spirit is great and amazing you are part of the human race. No man is free who is not a master of himself.
"All human beings should try to learn before they die what they are running from, and to, and why."
Mr. Bennett is the author book and the creator of the Positive Self Defense series. He is also available for speaking events.

Who are we? Where do we come from? How do we succeed? What does it mean when we say "Standing on the shoulders of those who came before us"? How does this ideology get embedded into our children's understanding? In This episode, we'll explore some of the above, through this week’s films: Malcom X and Akeelah and the Bee. Providing insight to our broadcast, will be the National Youth Director of The Afrikan Village & Cultural Center, Educator, Mr. Marcus Sankofa Nicks....

Courage is the theme of tonight's show. Harriet Tramer has written a book called Racing to Heaven which tells of a teenaged girls development through her relationship with a horse named Big Red. The relationship between young girls and horses has been explored over the years but Harriet's take as well as her writing style draw readers in. We'll discuss the courage displayed within the book as well as the courage to write as writing is a courageous pursuit in and of itself.
Next, we'll talk to another writer, Sherry Shoemaker. In her book, Courage to Climb: 12 Women Surmount the Impossible, she tells the story of 11 women (and includes her own story) who have overcome devastation from crippling poverty to domestic violence to the death of a child. She shares what gave these women the courage to not just survive but to ultimately survive!
