Buck Sixx is a country/rock band that stems from generations of family musicians. They all started at an early age playing along with their dads, grandfathers, cousins and uncles. As musicians, they have played with lots of other bands, but the strong family bond has brought them back together to form Buck Sixx. They play original songs written by the band with a blend of Country/Rock. The combination of lyric and music continues to grow the band’s fan base. Brothers, cousins, and Friends they hail from Columbia, Tennessee, just forty miles south of Nashville.. “Buck Sixx’s debut record is one of the strongest freshmen records I’ve ever heard. There truly isn’t a bad song on the record and there isn’t a song that would turn fans off. Buck Sixx successfully showcases who they are as individuals, as a group, as musicians, as vocalists, and as songwriters and it’s a showcase that is uniquely fresh. It’s a package that will allow them to be recognized on many different avenues in the country music industry.” – Thatsmusictome.com

Hi listeners and welcome to another edition of Weekdays with Murph. Today is kind of a special day, as it's very rare that this happens, but we have a band on the show today. The super talented Band Angelica stops by to talk with us about their careers, their music, and anything else they're working on that they can talk about. I've got my lovely and talented co-host Emily with me (who booked the band, by the way), so let's do this thing!

Today I had the privilege of meeting my Co-Host Mr. Garth Kline at C103 studios because he had a new upcoming saxophone Band that wanted a chance to spread their Musical wings and try something new.
It has also been part of S3productions to discover and give new and talented people a chance to show their stuff.
This is actually Nathan’s second show with us has we explores new ways to grow musically. (A side note this whole idea started with a conversation on a homeward bound bus about students pursuing their passion and the Futures.)
I truly enjoyed this show and look forward to the Future of the band “Irma and the Boyz”
Tonight Pop Art Painter Jamie Roxx (www.JamieRoxx.us) welcomes the amazing Austin TX Soul & Funk Band Roxy Roca to the show!
"Fans of ’60s legends like James Brown and Al Green will have plenty to savor on Roxy Roca’s latest, Ain’t Nothin’ Fancy — a record full of powerhouse soul with a smooth, Southern finish. The lyrics are simple, but it’s the horn section and vocalist Taye Cannon’s impressive vocal chops that steal the show here, with hoarse shrieks, whoops, and hollers to beat the band.
Roxy Roca’s tunes are dynamic, infectious, and, above all, fun, sure to inspire even the most reluctant to step out on the dance floor." ~ Texas Music Magazine

The comparison is inevitable. How could it be otherwise? Tito Puente Jr. carries his father with him – imprinted on his physical being and locked in his soul. It’s in his looks, his joy, and his music. Tito, Jr. is on a passionate mission. The younger Puente is determined to nurture the musical legacy left by his father. He refuses to let his father become a distant memory. “He was just too vibrant, too exciting. There was magic in the music my father made. It made people happy all over the world.” He has found captive audiences who echo his passion. Crowds lured to a venue by the father are returning to see the son -- and to once again participate in the high voltage celebration that takes place on stage. Tito Puente, Jr. has become an audience favorite in casinos, performing arts centers, symphony halls and jazz festivals worldwide, performing more than 300 shows over the past 5 years. His 2004 album, “In My Father’s Shoes” featured the classic Puente titles and was spun into a BET Jazz television special of the same name. He was seen in a tribute to his father’s music on NBC’s two hour special--“The Apollo at 70: A Hot Night in Harlem.” He has also appeared on the ABC soap opera hit “One Life to Live” in performance with his big band. Symphony appearances include Dallas, San Antonio, Colorado, South Bend, and upcoming performances with the Palm Desert Symphony and the National Symphony Orchestra conducted by Marvin Hamlisch. Tito, Jr.’s new CD release, “Got Mambo?” is a mixture of the old and the new as he takes a musical departure into some powerful new music he can truly call his own. Guest artists Bobby Cruz and Hansel & Raul help make this a coming of age project for Puente, Jr. and the album is receiving heavy praise from Tropical and Latin Jazz critics alike.
