The most populus province in Canada heads to the polls on June 12th. The Liberals and Kathleen Wynne seek to return to power. The NDP and Andrea Horwath are looking to fill that bill as well. The PCPO and Tim Hudak are also in the mix, if for nothing but comic relief and brutal irony.
Let's look at some of the "hot button" issues. Gasplants. Infrastructure. Public Transportation. Taxes. Employment. Social services. Many things, many "explanations", many retractions. We will be joined by @Anon_GovWatchCA to examine these issues and more. I know Ontarians are not happy. Ontarians know they're not happy. Will the election solve anything?
I whole heartedly invite all to listen, call in, participate in the chat room and come on the air with us and tell us what Ontario needs to happen on June 9th.
Time allowing, we will look at the first three days of Michael Sona's trial in Guelph over the "robocall" debacle.
After spending his teens and most of his 20s playing in rock bands, Ontario's TERRY FERNIHOUGH made a decision to quit, and put his energy into what he really loved, which was writing songs. Terry explains that he was "too rock for country in the 80s, and too country for rock." Then everything changed. Some called it "New Country", some called it "Country Rock". Terry just called it good music. As time has moved forward, his tastes have broadened even further into more traditional country, folk, and even contemporary country, which has moved even farther away from its traditional base. He feels very fortunate to write with some of the most talented artists on the Canadian country music scene. These artists have been nominated for CCMA Awards, ECMAs, provincial country music awards in Alberta, Saskatchewan and Ontario, and two of them are even Juno nominees. Terry will talk about songwriting and will share two of his songs recorded by Canadian country artists Donny Parenteau & Sarah Beth Keeley.
MELODY LOVEJOY is a country recording artist and songwriter based in Edmonton, Alberta. Influenced by her love of rock driven music and her country roots, Melody’s voice combines the smoky overtones of a rock diva with the clear emotion of a country songstress to bring a punchy, yet emotionally connected performance. Melody has performed on stages as small as your living room and as large as the Jubilee Auditorium. Notable performances include the 2010 Grey Cup Huddle Town Stage, The Honda Indy Ultimate Street Party and the Taste of Edmonton. Her debut album is set to release soon with the lead single I'm Letting Go which will hit Canadian Country radio on September 16th!

Robyn Ottolini is a singer-songwriter who has been immersed in the magic of music since the age of 3. In her home town of Uxbridge, Ontario, she is known for singing throughout the halls of her high school. "Without looking, teachers know it’s me when I get into class," Robyn says with a smile. She remembers coming up with melodic ideas as early as ten years old and wanting to write songs. Piano lessons weren’t enough to satisfy Robyn’s musical interests, playing flute in the school band helped but, it was the introduction of the guitar where Robyn found her writing partner. Her earliest songs were written with her grandfather’s Harmony guitar from the 1950s.
"I write songs about what I’m feeling and what’s happening in my life," she explains.
Robyn has a fascination with the ocean. She believes ‘what you see on the surface is different than what is underneath.’ Her lyrics reflect her unique view of the world around her. She writes songs with a seasoned eloquence beyond her young age.
When the opportunity to sing on demos for a local recording studio presented itself, Robyn jumped right in. Her original songs caught the producer’s attention. "It was Robyn’s unique vocal tone and the strength of her songwriting that impressed us" says her producers.
Robyn's latest single - written by her & MIke Leaver - is the title track from her album Fairytales and Open Doors.
