Nano Reef Hour - Tropical Biotopes

    in Environment

On Sunday June 14th at 8pm est, 7pm cst and 5pm pst, Albert and Joe will be discussing something a little different than Nano Tanks. They will be discussing Tropical Biotopes of the Caribbean and Hawaiian Enviroments.

    Hawaii Biotopes:

A Hawiian Biotope tank offers many choices to the aquarist. To make an aquarium a true "living picture of the Coral Reefs", we need to work harder to duplicate the whole environment of the fish. By doing this, we will see behaviors not normally seen in aquariums (such as two fish "helping" each other out, or interacting in a unique fashion) and have a more natural aquarium. Hawiian fish are colorful, plus, most are hand-caught and rather hardy. This is only a sample of the fish available from the region. Note: This does not wish to imply that all these fish are reef-safe, nor compatible with each other.

    Atlantic Biotopes

Often overlooked and underappreciated, the Atlantic biotopes are amazing aquariums. Sustainable inhabitants are here in our own backyards and ready for hobbyists to create new and interesting aquariums. Much can be learned about these animals from captive systems and hobbyists have a remarkable opportunity in front of them to participate in the process and progress.

    PNN - Aloha

    in Politics Progressive

PNN PRESENTS THE SURROUNDED ISLANDS OF SANITY.

PNN concludes its forth year of webcasting and spends some time amidst this silly worlds troubles with some Islands of Sanity.

Our Political Commentator Ms Brook Hines dissects the latest charades of what passes for a Legislative body . See the Legislature  continue their unconstitutional GERRYMANDERING WAYS .

Then we welcome from the ancient nation of Wales the journalists called The Three MuckRakers. Who bring us their insight on the  American political scene and views of politics in the UK as well as their vantage point of Europe. (The UK has a progressive, Jeremy Corbyn) who out of nowhere, is bucking the austerity meme that sends everything to the 1%.

They also address the MidEast and the death dance that opposes the Iran Treaty.  Reflecting on American politics with a decidedly UK perspective. The Three Muckrakers; Dennis Campbell, Prof. Dario Llinares, and Phil Perry bring a century of political acumen.

We also welcome Progressive Atheist Alice Carr from Austrailia, who talks about the issues that engage the progressive humanists across the pacific, from theists crowding out liberty, to refugees  to environmental insults to the Great Barrier Reef, she provides very powerful voice from a leader in the progressive atheist community overseas. A voice you should hear.

And a special guest Annie Orlando a political activist in the north Florida college town of Gainesville who will bring us her tale of political malfeasance that stains too much of Florida's political landscape. Tune in Sunday at 7pm (Eastern)

  • Correcting sub-optimal thyroid function and GMO food equals Death.

    in Health

Any effective approach to correcting sub-optimal thyroid function must also provide support for the adrenal glands. Your adrenals, which sit on top of both kidneys, may become fatigued when overstimulation of these important glands (such as from physical or emotional stress) leaves them unable to supply your body with an adequate amount of their hormones

If you want formaldehyde, hydrochloric acid, hydrogen cyanide, ammonia, and sulfuric acid in your food, please eat GMO food or food that has genetically modified material in it. In one word these chemicals are called "Glyphoste", which  is corrosive to steel and iron; would you consider eating this if it were shown on the label of the foods you buy in your grocery store?

Emancipation of Slaves in the British Virgin Islands, Rebroadcasting

    in Culture

The British Virgin Islands, part of a volcanic archipelago in the Caribbean, is a British overseas territory comprising 4 main islands and many smaller ones. Tortola is home to the low-key capital, Road Town, and rainforested Sage Mountain National Park. On Virgin Gorda is The Baths, a labyrinth of beachside boulders.

The abolition of slavery occurred on 1 August 1834, and to this day it is celebrated by a three day public holiday on the first Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday in August in the British Virgin Islands. The original emancipation proclamation hangs in the High Court. However, the abolition of slavery was not the single event that it is sometimes supposed to have been. Emancipation freed a total of 5,792 slaves in the Territory, but at the time of abolition, there were already a considerable number of free blacks in the Territory, possibly as many as 2,000.

In January 1808, HMS Cerberus seized the American schooner, the Nancy with a cargo of enslaved Senegalese Africans in the Territory's waters; between August 1814 and February 1815 a further four ships' slave cargoes were seized from the Venus, the Manuella, the Atrevido and the Candelaria and a further 1,318 liberated slaves were deposited on Tortola's shores (of whom just over 1,000 survived).

In 1819, a Portuguese slave ship, the Donna Paula, was wrecked upon the reef at Anegada. The ship's crew and 235 slaves were saved from the wreckage. Further Spanish ships, enroute to Puerto Rico were reported wrecked on the reef at Anegada in 1817 and 1824, and their cargos settled on Tortola.

Although many of these former slaves died due to the appalling conditions that they were kept in during the transatlantic crossing, a large number survived, and had children. - Courtesy of wikipedia.org
