I'll be talking with Andrea Cooley, The Content Queen! And here's what she says:
"Writing is something we all learn to do in school, so we often don’t think of hiring a professional when it comes to writing about our business – we know that subject intimately.
Often when we read our own words on a page, it sounds like Chop Sticks would on a piano. A professional writer knows how to interpret your subject and then choose and combine the right words to create a beautiful melody."
Tune in to listen to how she creates beautiful melodies for people.

I am Kathy Klotz-Guest, founder of Keeping it Human. This show airs most Thursdays at 3:30 PM PDT. Keeping it Human is about human speak, not marketing speak, that gets results. We focus on great tips and fun guests without the marketing BS. If you're looking for jargon-monoxide poisoning, we happily recommend our competition.
The key to great content is having an overarching company story and story strategy. Who are you in the world? How do you make a difference in customers' lives? Your story is a strategic GPS that drives your content. Without knowing your core story - your content has no cohesive glue.
Join me Thursday, October 3rd! We'll be talking about the power of a core story and how that can drive a 'human' content strategy.

Just over one year ago, Andrea Seabrook left a brilliant career as a Congressional correspondent for NPR and host of the weekend edition of All Things Considered to re-define political reporting by starting her own podcast, DecodeDC.
Rather than go hat in hand to another set of vested interests, Andrea successfully crowdfunded the venture garnering more than $100,000 by appealing to her listeners with a simple value proposition: “Washington is broken. You are not. Help DecodeDC report stories that really matter”
As a dizzying array of distributors, miners, and aggregators galvanize their resolve to commoditize content, there is a growing push back from content creators. The long held stigma of self-published books, self-released music, and independently produced film/video has all but disappeared as DIY has hit the mainstream hard.
Unlike most of the disruptions to legacy business models, this one is truly individual-centric. This has caused both traditional and VC backed organizations considerable difficulty in establishing a model to support their necessary levels of profit and growth.
Andrea joins Fred and Howard on The COIL to share insights on truly independent media, crowdfunding for change, and on being the brand.
We’ve all heard the saying, “content is king,” and recently we’ve been hearing “conversation is king.” But what about content marketing? We’re going to explore how the use of content is changing events and how you can use it to better market your events and organization. And tune in for a showcase of the trendiest trends around in Trendspotting with correspondent Chad Kaydo.

For anyone who blogs or does anything that looks like blogging, everyone knows that fabulous, sparkly, intriguing, highly valuable content is one of the most important things. The other "most important" thing is consistency. This means there's double the pressure. Provide top notch, super interesting content, and lots of it.
So, how do you keep coming up with interesting ideas for content? This is the question.
Hosts Jeremy Krug and Dave Godar take on one of the country's most mysterious highways -- Highway 375 in Nevada, sometimes called the Extraterrestrial Highway. Located just a few miles away from the most top secret military installation in the world, Area 51, this highway has treasures for everyone, whether or not you believe the government has something 'otherworldly' to hide. We'll show you how to get as close as is legally possible to Area 51 without crossing the forbidden border and being abducted by the 'cammo guys.'
We'll be talking with two experts who know just about everything that can be known about the area. First, we'll be joined by Pat Travis, who's owned the Little A'le'inn in the town of Rachel, Nevada, for over 20 years. She'll share her experiences living so close to the famed military base, plus some of the lessons she's learned living in such a beautiful, yet isolated place.
Later in our show, we'll be joined by Will Tryon, of Adventure Photo Tours in Las Vegas. His company organizes tours of the Area 51 border region and the E.T. Highway. Will shares his expertise on jaw-dropping spots to visit around here, and as a 42-year pilot, he gives his thoughts on the unusual maneuvers he's seen in the sky.
Later, in our comedy segment On the Lighter Side, J. Howard Carter calls in and has accidentally taken a wrong turn at Albuquerque and has ended up at the entrance to Area 51.
