Sisters Chat on the Stovall & Hoggard Communications Network

    in Current Events

Sisters Chat is back and have we got a great show planned for you! Over the last several months, there have been several high-profile police incidents involving the death of young black men including the shooting death of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri, the 45-year-old homeless man killed by LAPD last month, the death of Eric Garner who died as a result of police using a choke hold, and most recently, the forceful arrest of UVA student Martese Johnson who was left beaten and bloodied on the sidewalk outside a bar near campus. These are only a few of the recent violent confrontations between black males and police.

The deaths of these men, the call for investigations and seemingly no one being held accountable for the taking of innocent lives, a new battle cry has arisen in the continue fight for justice and equal civil rights. The battle cry, "Black Lives Matter," has been heard in rallies from California to New York City and many cities in between.

The Sisters Chat panel will talk about the "Black Lives Matter" movement, what it means to our communities and if there will be a new crop of black leaders that emerge from this new threat.

Join us on Wed., April 15 at 6 p.m. for Sisters Chat only on Stovall & Hoggard Communications Network on blogtalk radio. Call to join the conversation at 1-914-338-1541.

    Cora Jakes-Coleman - Children's Ministry Director

    in Radio

Cora Coleman is 27 years old. She is a wife to her wonderful husband Brandon Coleman and is the mother to her beautiful daughter Amauri Coleman. She’s the daughter to world renown Bishop Jakes, and First Lady Serita Jakes. She is working as the children’s ministry director of The Potter’s House of Dallas. She loves life, and enjoys writing. She began writing in her blog Fertility Faith at the age of 24 because at the age of 22 the doctors diagnosed her with infertility. She went to the web looking for young women her age that were going through infertility, and could be a support to her, and found nothing for her age group. At the age of 24 Cora went through her first IVF cycle, and it failed. She was heartbroken, lost, and confused. She was able to find wonderful women through her sister’s blog sarahdjakes.com that had fought infertility and won. When she began to find these women they became her support and her push. Having these women encouraged her to continue to push forward, and pushed her to speak about her struggle to help someone else. She was able to find what she calls her community she calls her support community her fertility sisters, and without them she would have been lost. Cora Coleman now post in her blog weekly, and speaks out about her battle with infertility in the hopes of building a group of support for all people who are fighting for not just a baby but for their ultimate promise that the Lord has spoken over them. She is now a minister in training under the Potter’s House school of Ministry. She plans to continue to encourage people through her blog, writing books, and speaking out about continuing to fight for your dream no matter what obstacle you are facing. She does not just have a heart for young women battling infertility, but she has a heart for people who are trying to get and reach their promise.

Meet Ken Smith, CA FairTax State Director

    in Politics

Our special guest thie week, 4/8/15, on FairTax Time Radio will be a man who made the commitment to be the State Director for FairTax in California, Ken Smith. That is no small job in a state with 53 congressional districts, each with a population of about 700,000. This volunteer position is a major sacrifice in personal time and resources, with the desired goal of significantly increasing the number of House and Senate cosponsors of HR25 and S155 and creating a demand on the part of the citizens for their representatives to do so. The conversation will be about the Virtual March on Washington and what is happening with activists in California. Those activities will be copied all over the country, so this interview will be pertinent for everyone.

We also expect to hear from our friend, comedian Rodney Lee Conover, and we also hope to get an update from Prseidential candidate Kerry Bowers as to his thoughts about Rand Paul entering the race.

Fair Tax Time is brought to you commercial free each Wednesday evening, 6PM PT, 9PM ET, courtesy of our host, John Wesley Nobles. You may listen on your computer or on your phone. Dial (619) 393-6478 or, if you’re charged for long distance, use our toll-free line: (888) 436-1206. Just follow instructions when the nice British lady answers.
