Join your host Wes Blackman as he welcomes once again West Palm Beach Commissioner and Lake Worth small business owner Shanon Materio to the High Noon in Lake Worth studios. You might recall that Ms. Materio was appointed to fill former Commissioner Bill Moss' seat upon his unexpected death soon after re-election. Within a year, she had to run a campaign to keep her seat and successfully defeated her challenger. No challenger filed to run in this past March's West Palm Beach election, so Shanon is enjoying her first full, two-year term as Commissioner. She and her husband Phil own the award-winning McMow Art Glass studio on Dixie Hwy. in Lake Worth and live in the southend of West Palm Beach. Commissioner Materio is joining me to talk about potential improvements to the C-51 canal, (ultimately designed to make the canal navigable), the potential redevelopment of the Palm Coast Plaza property and what will happen to the vacant land which borders the north side of the canal across from the Arbor Plaza in Lake Worth. I am sure we will talk about city infrastructure, the Lake Worth 2020 ballot issue, All Aboard Florida and what West Palm Beach plans to do to fund its future infrastructure needs.

IRS Commissioner John Koskinen grilled by Congress today. The smug, condecending disgraced commissioner remains bull-headed into defending his agency.
Again, these hearing are nice and all, they make for some great sound-bites . . . but, where's the follow-up? Why was he not put into contempt? It wouldn't mean much, but it would still send a message that the Republicans have at least a resemblence of a set of testicals.
WMD's do exist in Iraq and ISIS has them. Weather ISIS can figure out a way to make them work is NOT a gamble I want the country to take. As far as we should be concerned: If these weapons do exist and ISIS has them, we MUST consider that they do work and they will use them.
The world must destroy this cancer of radical Islam NOW!

Surprise! We have a whole half hour where Deacon and Eric rattle off questions deep and not-so deep to Commissioner Bill Peterson of the North American Soccer League!
(Told you it was big.)
We talk history, the game today, the future of the league, and even talk about what we had for lunch for no reason whatsoever. If you're a soccer fan-- you cannot miss this. That simple.
WOLFEBORO, N.H. — A police commissioner in a predominantly white New Hampshire town says he won’t apologize for calling President Barack Obama the N-word, and he sat with his arms crossed while angry residents at a meeting called for his resignation on Thursday.
Wolfeboro Police Commissioner Robert Copeland, who’s 82 and white, has acknowledged in an email to his fellow police commissioners he used the racial slur in describing Obama.
Town resident Jane O’Toole, who moved to Wolfeboro four months ago, said she overheard Copeland say the slur at a restaurant in March and wrote to the town manager about it. Copeland, in an email to her, acknowledged using the slur in referring to the president and said he will not apologize.
“I believe I did use the ‘N’ word in reference to the current occupant of the Whitehouse,” Copeland said in the email to his fellow police commissioners, part of which he forwarded to O’Toole. “For this, I do not apologize — he meets and exceeds my criteria for such.”

The congressional committee investigating the IRS' targeting and harassment of conservative groups learned from the agency that Lois Lerner's computer had crashed and all emails and data pertinent to the investigation were unrecoverable.
The agency later reported that the hard drives of six other IRS employees working alongside Lerner had also crashed and that data was unrecoverable.
Paul Ryan spoke up against IRS Commissioner John Koskinen saying: "this is unbelievable" and "I don't believe you."
I think that all Americans can agree with Paul Ryan on his reaction to the commissioner.
It's time for our government to be accountable to justice and to the people of this great country!
