SUSAN BLAKELY
Susan Blakely is a Golden Globe award-winning actress, and member of the ensemble cast of TNT’s hit series, “Southland.” In 2010 she starred in the sequel to “Beverly Hills Chihuahua.” First gaining international recognition and garnering a Golden Globe (twice) for the "Rich Man, Poor Man" miniseries, she was again nominated for "Will There Really Be A Morning," the Frances Farmer autobiography, and won Best Actress award from the California Independent Film Festival for her starring role in "Hungry Hearts." Recently, Blakely starred opposite Pauley Perrette ("NCIS") in a short film, "To Comfort You," and shared the Best Actress award for the film, which won the jury prize as Best Picture in the 2010 Beverly Hills Short Film Festival. She co-starred in the Lifetime series, "Side Order of Life," and starred in "Hate Crime," for which she won Best Actress in the Sedona Film Festival, and recurred as a guest star on episodes of C “Two and a Half Men,” and guest-starred in the highly rated series, “Nip/Tuck,” “Brothers and Sisters,” “Cougar Town” and “Worst Week.” Famed 3-network CEO, Fred Silverman called Susan "one of television's all-time best actresses," and legendary filmmaker/director Stanley Kubrick wrote, "Susan Blakely is one of the ten best actresses in the world." Before she became an actress, Susan Blakely was one of the world's top fashion models, gracing the covers of Vogue, Bazaar, Cosmopolitan Magazines. Janice Gow Pettey has been working in the nonprofit field for more than 25 years. She is an internationally recognized authority on fundraising, and regularly conducts trainings and leads presentations for all types of groups and organizations. She specializes in diversity and ethics in fundraising.
Her book, Cultivating Diversity in Fundraising, was published by Wiley in 2001 and won the CASE International Research Award in 2003. She also served as editor of New Directions in Philanthropic Fundraising: Diversity in the Fundraising Profession, published by Jossey-Bass in 2002.
Janice is an adjunct professor at the University of San Francisco where she teaches courses in fundraising, strategic planning and board governance.
She serves on the international board of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) and chairs AFP’s Ethics Committee. She also chaired the 2005 Think Tank on Ethics held in Washington, D.C.
