    in Spirituality

LIVE! with Cathi---Caregiving-A NOBLE MISSION

    in Fitness

    CAREGIVING A NOBLE MISSION...

When you think of an adult child caring for an aging parent, you envision a young, robust caregiver in the prime of life.

America's aging population means caregivers are getting up in years as well.  Circa 2012-stats: 40% of caregivers were 50-64 yeas old, and more than a quarter were 65 or older.

Whether it's a parent or spouse, caregivers need to balance time and roles.  They need to schedule time for "your time out" not burning out.

How does caring for a spouse differ from caring for a parent?

    STAY TUNED...

Caregivers need to speak their mind...etc.

Caregivers need to take time out...etc.

Let parent/spouse do things for themselves...etc.

    Don't be an ENABLER...etc.

When a caregiver seeks for outside help...etc.

    The Messiah’s Misunderstood Mission

    in Christianity

Jesus performed miracles and signs. He healed the sick, raised the

dead, quelled storms of nature, fed the multitudes and exercised

absolute authority over the spirit world—yet He wasn’t accepted as Israel’s Messiah. One might think that with those credentials, He would be automatically proclaimed Messiah. We are told, however, that “He came to His own [people], and His own did not receive Him” (John 1:11). After a 3 1⁄2-year ministry, only 120 followers were there for the miraculous beginning of His Church (Acts 1:15).

One of the prophecies about the Messiah foretold that He would be “despised and rejected by men” (Isaiah 53:3). The great works Jesus did that brought about His popularity in the country were not enough to overcome the disfavor He incurred from the religious authorities—or enough to secure loyalty from the fickle hearts of the common man. His mission and His teachings were at cross purposes to those who held high positions in the nation, and His purpose was also misunderstood by most of those who saw and heard Him. What were the Jews looking for? The Jews were acquainted with many of the prophecies about the Messiah, the chosen or “anointed one”

The Next Mission Radio with special guest Curtis Jones (MR. VA/Gunny)

    in Military

(Tune in to The Next Mission Radio with your host Daniel Mays)

Join us as we go on air with Mr. Curtis Jones (Mr.VA/Gunny) as we dive into some of the issues that surround VA disabilities and ratings. We will be discussing issues and simple things that veterans miss when going to sign for their ratings. Also we will be discussing some other programs that are available for veterans such as the VFW, DAV, American Legion just to name a few.

Curtis Jones is a retired Marine Gunny who joined into the Marine Corps in 1977 during his time in service until his end of service in  1998. Once out of the military he held multiple jobs ranging from work as a security consultant all the way up to working for the FBI and everything else in between. Along with some of the jobs that the Gunny has held he has also volunteered his time and efforts to give back to the Veteran Community by taking part in VFW Post 304, DAV CHAPTER 3, AMERICAN LEGION POST 141, FRA BRANCH 24, and AMVETS.

"I work for the DOD, but my life's mission is to help any and all Vet's that I can. I believe in God and Country in that order and I am willing to die for both! I have always stood up for the underdog and will continue to do so! I am a combat Vet and a wounded warrior even tho you can't see my wounds. I have been in two helicopter crashes. Ran over a landmine in Bosnia, shot in the chest but by the Grace of God my vest took the round, almost taken out by an IED also in Bosnia."-Curtis Jones (Gunny)

So please join us on the air to talk with myself and Mr. Curtis to discuss VA ratings and any questions about the process and local VFW, DAV, and American legions.
