The best way to honor our veterans is to remember the sacrifices they have made. It is important for younger generations to learn about history from places that preserve these cherished memories and see items that belonged to our veterans. The TN Museum of Aviation is open year round and is a “living” museum. The exhibits and aircraft change frequently which makes each visit memorable. The museum is a great place for families to reminisce with veterans willing to share their memories with younger generations. When you visit the Tennessee Museum of Aviation, you are taking a step back in time to experience a part of history in the heart of the Smoky Mountains. In this segment of The Organic View Radio Show, host, June Stoyer talks to Vietnam War Veteran, Mr. Don Campbell about an amazing collection of memorabilia at the Tennessee Aviation Museum in beautiful Sevierville, Tennessee! Today’s show is sponsored by The City of Sevierville, the east coast’s hottest most affordable eco-travel destination for families, couples and holiday weekends. Gunny’s Military Museum Quartzsite Arizona and the USS Chicago CG-11
Today 12-21-15 I stopped at Gunny’s Military Museum Quartzsite Arizona to visit with USMC (retired) Gunny Bob StGermain. I wanted to get caught up and share with my audience on all the good things Gunny is doing in La Paz County to help his fellow Veterans, but first I must digress a bit.
USS Chicago CG-11 was my first ship I had served on way back in ancient days.
Jim Popper from the USS Chicago Facebook page has made available some USS Chicago Stickers, which I had ordered and placed on my S3productions wall of fame. About the same time frame Gunny had posted on Facebook some USS Chicago patches that had been donated to his museum, so I ordered some stickers from Jim and then passed them along to Gunny for his museum.
Another example of how somehow unrelated events connect to form a story
I also wanted to stop by Gunny’s Museum to get updated on what is and was is going on in La Paz county Arizona has far as Gunny’s efforts to help his fellow vets.
Finally I highly recommend to any Veteran that while in Quartzite Arizona to stop in and see the Museum it is well worth it and perhaps maybe donate a buck or two to help Gunny in his efforts
Thanks Again Gunny and Semper FI
"American Gothic," the frequently parodied painting of the old couple (really father and daughter) standing in front of a white farm house with a gothic style window holding a pitchfork, is one of the most recognizable paintings in the world. You know the painting, but what do you know about the artist? Wood was one of the school of Regionalist painters, but his art ranged from recycle art to murals to stain glass. Wood was born and raised and returned to work in Iowa. Tune in to learn about Wood's life, his art, his Iowa connections, and a new display coming to the Cedar Rapids Museum of Art.
Exposition hosts Valerie Thomas and Mike Thompson features Jamie C. Sloane, a professional artist currently residing in Gallipolis Ohio. Jamie studied Music Composition at Marshall University (non-graduate), writing symphonies and other large orchestral works. Jamie began to paint as a pastime, and found later that he had a passion as an artist coming through in the visual form. Much of my earlier paintings resemble music in the visual sense. Sloane’s first gallery show was in Gallipolis Ohio at the French Art Colony, titled ‘Translations: Aesthetic Interpretations of Gallipolis’; a visual translation of the historical landscape of Gallipolis Ohio. His second show occurred just one year later, containing 45 new paintings; this was held in Point Pleasant at The Gallery At 409.
