New series: Part 6 @ 2pm. Returning to Close-Up Talk Radio is author Helen Olian. Fascinated with writing and animals since her youth, Helen wrote countless stories for her own viewing. After suffering a serious accident and becoming wheelchair bound, Helen decided to turn her passion into magnificent tales for all to see.
Over her professional career Helen has completed 13 books of various themes, 8 of which are “doggie” themed including The Doggy Trip and The Doggy Farm. Helen’s most successful work to date is The Aliens, which was featured on a list of top 100 bestsellers on www.amazon.com. “This is such a tremendous honor to be able to do what I love and see people appreciate it. I write animal themed rhyme verse books for children and it’s exciting to see their reactions at book signings,” exclaims Olian.
Helen is currently completing the ninth and final installment of doggy-themed books entitled The Master Doggy. “To wrap up the series, this tale follows a down-to-earth dog whose boss celebrates his birthday at the office, has a hill near his house and becomes master of the hill. It sticks with the rhyme verse patterns with wonderful illustrations to match. He becomes master yet remains humble. It doesn’t go to his head. It’s a great way for me to finish the series. It’s time to move on.”
Sticking with her youth targeted books, Helen is also working on a bedtime children’s book to help kids sleep at night. Helen’s books are wonderfully illustrated and easily relatable to children ages eight and up. All of Helen’s works are available through Maypole Books, which she founded in her home state of New Mexico.

My guest this Saturday November 2 is author Kristina Dreisbach. We will be discussing her new children's book, Winston the Duck and His Big Orange Bill.
About the author:
Kristina Wolf Dreisbach is a preschool teacher in Jeffersontown, Kentucky. “Children in my classes loved to hear my stories that I wrote or made up on a whim for them. My dream has been to write a children’s book and now God has made my dream come true! I hope every child who reads this book will know that God makes us all different, and to be confident in Him and who He has made us to be!” Her family once had a duck named Winston.
About the book:
Winston the duck is born on Cady Cove Lake to Mr. and Mrs. Mallard Duck. All the animals come to see the blessed event. But when Winston is born, he has a big orange bill that makes him different. Winston knows God made him different for a reason and is determined to find out why.
One night after the family goes to sleep, Winston heads out on a journey around Cady Cove Lake. He meets Mr. Turtle who laughs at him, but Winston just keeps walking. He meets Mr. Raccoon and together they search for the reason Winston has a big orange bill. The two get into trouble with an owl that wants to eat them for dinner!
Join host Virginia S Grenier on Mondays at 4pm eastern as she talks with debut and best-selling authors about their latest releases.
On this week's show, we have debut author S. Jenny Boyer. The author's desire is to inspire others to appreciate how God uses animals, sometimes very wise and wonderful ones like SpecialT, to enrich our lives if we only open our hearts and minds to the lessons they can teach us, just by being themselves.
Ms. Boyer is a retired nurse, an Infection Control Practitioner, whose world changed dramatically when she let the words swirling inside her escape to paper. Her story of her beloved cat, how he came to live with her later in his life and the lessons she learned from him, changed her life for the better.

My guest this evening is author Yvette Tatum Allen, and Tremayne Moore. We will be discussing Yvette's book, I Didn't Know and her efforts to bring the subject of child sexual abuse from the closet of secrecy to a open forum for discussion!
Mr.Tremayne Moore was also a victim of child sexual abuse and he will be joining the discussion.
Tremayne Moore is the founder of Mayntre Manuscripts, LLC, a publishing company with a vision of writing to write the broken soul. Knox County, Ohio – For many writers, the search for inspiration can be a long and daunting task indeed. Returning to the Close-Up Talk Radio experience is author Paula Jo (Eberwine) Blubaugh. For Paula, inspiration for her book, Dalmatian Road, came to her during a simple conversation with her son while driving home one day.
Released in 2012 (Xlibris), Dalmatian Road offers children a simple and fun way to learn and enjoy the experience of reading. Dalmatian Road is full of life, color illustrations, and imagination. Through rhyming, Dalmatian Road provides children the opportunity to identify different animals and colors.
Recently, Paula completed her latest rhyming book tentatively titled Cloudoscope. Paula is also working on a new book from her family dog’s perspective entitled Black Labradorable. “I just want to continue to share the joys of reading through imagination. I like to think outside of the box and do things just outside of the norm. With Cloudoscope, I wanted to rhymes about how incredible the constantly changing shapes of clouds can be, much like a kaleidoscope, and what the imagination can allow them to appear to be. For Black Labradorable, I wanted to do something different by writing a humorous journal from my Labrador’s perspective. People who have pets often look at them and wish they knew what they were thinking. I’m hoping to have both books ready for release by Thanksgiving/Christmas 2013.”
