Authors of the Dark Justice Bundle LIVE! Special 2nd "Saturday" Crime

    in Books

Do you know about StoryBundle.com? If not, you should! And you'll find out on a very special edition of Second Sunday Crime, this time on Wednesday, November 11. Ten fabulous authors have contributed a full novel to a special bundle of crime fiction which is only available for another week! When we say "fabulous," btw, we mean it: the bundle AND THE SHOW will include NY Times Best Sellers Lawrence Block, Rebecca Cantrell, July Hyzy, Kris Nelscott, Dean Wesley Smith, and 2nd Sunday Crime host, Libby Hellmann. Plus others! Please join us for what will certainly be a rollicking party on Authors On The Air. We'll talk crime, fiction, bundles, and more! Have a question for Larry Block? Call in. Have a comment on the Bundle itself, let us know. Did you can name your own price for the Bundle? Hear about all of it and more...

    As Curator Kristine Rusch says:

"This bundle comes as close to crime fiction perfection as possible... We have a lot of diversity here. Our investigators include an African American detective, a Canadian doctor of Asian extraction, a disabled stockbroker and a group of retired cold case detectives. Throw in a few amateur detectives, a disgraced ex-cop, a female bounty hunter, and the famous Matthew Scudder, who has appeared in film (most recently A Walk Among The Tombstones), and you’ll encounter the full range of characters the mystery genre has to offer.

I’ve read and loved the work of each and every one of these writers. Some of them I’ve read since I started reading mystery and some I’ve read since before they ever had a book published. In one of my other incarnations, I’m an award-winning editor, so believe me when I tell you that if there were some kind of Kristine Kathryn Rusch Gold Seal of Approval, the books in this bundle would receive it."

    in Spirituality

[Welcome!  To support our German-Speaking audience, this show is offered in German.] Willkommen!

Boston Leadership: Portraits of Purpose with Don West and Kenneth J. Cooper

    in Current Events

Salute To Boston’s Diverse Leadership: Portraits Of Purpose

With Co-Authors Don West and Kenneth J. Cooper

Now that Boston has officially become a “Majority-Minority” city, with 53% of its residence non-white, it’s time to showcase the many contributions of its diverse citizens.  That’s now been done in a graphically rich new “coffee table” book: Portraits of Purpose: A Tribute To Leadership.

Portraits of Purpose is a visual chronicle of 127 Boston-based African American leaders and their allies who have continued the pursuit of freedom and justice in a post-civil rights era.   Renowned Boston photographer Don West and Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Kenneth J. Cooper teamed up to capture the images and shared the stories of these significant individuals of conscience.  From Charles Ogletree, Jr. and Cheng Imm Tan to Elma Lewis and the up and coming Tulaine Montgomery, these leaders of action are portrayed for the significant contributions they have made to the region…and the country.

ROAD MAP 4 SEEKER'S with Guest Fu-Ding Cheng

    in Spirituality

Fu-Ding Cheng––visionary filmmaker and shamanic artist–– began his career as a practicing architect, but has since focused his attention on books, films, and spirituality. In 1990, he founded Liquid Light Productions devoted to explore paths of self-illumination and mystical adventures through books, films, art and seminars.

His multi-faceted artistic career includes a prize-winning series of films, “Zen-Tales for the Urban Explorer” presented as a special retrospective at the Hammer Museum; album covers (Heart’s Dog and Butterfly); and a children’s book, Dream-House. While teaching film directing at the North Carolina School of the Arts, he created a groundbreaking new curriculum, "Shamanic Tools for the Filmmaker."

Furthermore, Fu-Ding has extensive teaching experience as an instructor at the UCLA School of Design, the Barnesdall Municipal Art Gallery in Los Angeles, and the North Carolina School of the Arts.

However, first priority over all vocational activities has been his life-long devotion to the spiritual quest, which led him to journeys East (meditation in the Himalayas, Chinese Kung-Fu), and to journeys West (spiritual-psychology, Meso-American shamanic practice). In 1995, in a breakthrough ritual with teacher/shaman, don Miguel Ruiz (The Four Agreements), he “Jumped to the Sun” and woke up from the dream of the planet.

Since then, through artwork and seminars, he has been inspired to distill the highest wisdoms into practical pathways to personal freedom for everyone. One result: Map of Desire, a Blueprint for Self-Fulfillment.

Being connected with nature has always been an intrinsic part of Dr. Rogers' life. He spent seven summers during his twenties as a climbing instructor, mountain guide, and Outward Bound instructor in the Oregon Cascades, Washington Cascades, Tetons, and Wind River Range in Wyoming. Climbing his first big wall in Yosemite at age 21, and spending five days climbing El Capitan in 1975. Given his love of the outdoors, discovering Taoism on his first Qigong study trip to China was nothing short of an epiphany.

He has been practicing Tai Chi and Qigong for over 20 years.
