SORT BY Relevancy
Challenge to anonymous person who said there was no more revelation after Jesus Christ. I responded that Paul received his vision after Jesus Christ. I then challenged him to produce one injunction against new revelation anywhere in Holy Writ. He could not, show his opinion was based on inchoate nonsense from his own mind. I, however, quoted a true prophet, John Taylor, who was visited by Jesus Christ on Sept 26, 1886, Centerville, Utah:
There is not a nation now that acknowledges that hand of God; there is not a king, potentate, nor ruler that acknowledges his jurisdiction. We talk about Christianity, but it is a perfect pack of nonsense. Men talk about civilization; but I do not want to say much about that, for I have seen enough of it. Myself and hundreds of the Elders around me have seen its pomp, parade, and glory; and what is it? It is a sounding brass and a tinkling symbol; it is as corrupt as hell; and the Devil could not invent a better engine to spread his work that the Christianity of the nineteenth century.
(Journal of Discourses, 26 vols., 6:, p.167)
I now challenge any so-called "Christian", whose faces were painted black, when they murdered Joseph, my Joseph, to prove fromt he scriptures, there is a ban on New Revelation.
"There is no subject which is more ridiculed by the religious world, at the present day, than that of New Revelation . All Christendom profess to admit that the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, are still in existence , and that they are unchangeable in their attributes, and that there are just as many angels now as in ancient times; but to assert that any of these holy beings have communicated any New Revelation to man since the first century of the Christian era, is considered, if not blasphemy, something near akin to it. Now a religion that excludes New Revelation from its principles, is just the very religion that suits the devil: he is well pleased with it." Orson Pratt.

The Anti-Christ, Mr. Hale masquerading as a Mormon, attempted once again to destroy the testimony, in this case, that of Joshua Jones concerning the advent of the One Mighty and Strong:
In a conference held at Provo City, Utah Territory, in the year 1867, in the bowery, on the northwest corner of the now Provo Commercial Bank block, President Brigham Young made the following prophecy: "Brethren, this Church will be led onto the very brink of hell by the leaders of this people, then God will raise up the one `Mighty and Strong' spoken of in the 85th Section of the Doctrine & Covenants to save and redeem this Church." Attested to by Joshua Jones who made a minute of it at that time and now has it in his diary. He is now (June 1922) at Provo City, Utah. The sending of this one "Mighty and Strong" the Lord has purposed for the salvation of the honest in heart among his people, and to be the initiative to bring about the great blessing the Lord has in reserve to cause the poor, the lame, the deaf, and the blind to rejoice. (One Mighty and Strong, John T. Clark, p. 106)
John T. Clark obviously interpolated this as his book was published in 1922, because there are two other source quotes concerning this statement by BY which do not mention "Section 85" at all:
"(I) learned through Lorin C. Woolley, that his father, John W. Woolley, attended the above meeting, and upon arriving home at Centerville he told Lorin and his mother of the incident. He related it thusly: "President Young, being filled with the Holy Ghost, said, `The time will come when this people will be led onto the very brink of hell by their leaders, then the one mighty and strong will come to set the house of God in order.'" Journal of Joseph W. Musser. September 28, 1938

Young girl athletes have big dreams, too! Holley Mangold dreamed of being an Olympian and achieved her goal - four years earlier than she planned. The Olympic weightlifter thought she'd have a shot at the 2016 games, but instead she'll represent the United States this year at the 2012 Olympic games in London.
Holley loved athletics and competition. She even played football for her high school team. With encouragement from her family, she thrived and recently committed herself to a sport that suited her body frame and skill level. The younger sister of the New York Jets Center Nick Mangold, Holley has found her own newfound success exciting.
Mangold, who stands 5 feet 8 and weighed in at 354 pounds yesterday thought she'd be a diver or gymnast.
“I’ve always wanted to be an Olympic athlete but I always thought I was going to do it in diving,” said Mangold, a native of Centerville and former high-school football player. “My body just didn’t work out for that one. I had to go with a different sport, I guess.”
We'll talk to Holley about what motivated and inspired her and how her parents helped her reach her Olympic goals. Parents whose daughters are considering nontradtional sports - THIS is the show for you!
in The Bible
Mr. Hale asked the question "Does God change?" The reply is couched within the revelation received by John Taylor, Centerville, Utah, September 26, 1886:
My son John, you have asked me concerning the New and Everlasting Covenant, how far it is binding upon my people. Thus saith the Lord, All commandments that I give must be obeyed by those calling themselves by my name unless they are revoked by me or by my authority, And how can I revoke an everlasting covenant; for I the Lord am everlasting and my everlasting covenants cannot be abrogated nor done away with; but they stand forever. Have I not given my word in great plainness on this subject? Yet have not great numbers of my people been negligent in the observance of my law and the keeping of my commandments? and yet have I borne with them these many years, and this because of their weakness, because of the perilous times, and furthermore, it is more pleasing to me that men should use their free agency in regard to these matters. Nevertheless, I the Lord do not change, and my word and my law do not. And as I have heretofore said by my servant Joseph, All those who would enter into my glory must and shall obey my law, and have I not commanded men that if they were Abraham’s seed and would enter into my glory, they must do the works of Abraham? I have not revoked this law, nor will I, for it is everlasting, and those who will enter into my glory must obey the conditions thereof, even so, Amen.

September 28, 1938. Last evening we held conjoint class meeting with the Priesthood and sisters. 62 present. Daniel R. Peay of Provo, told of hearing President Charles W. Penrose say, shortly after Brother Grant became President of the Church, "We have been making a mistake in ordinations; we have been conferring the Priesthood and it ought not to be done. If we confer the Priesthood on a man we give him all the offices and callings in the Church. We should ordain to the office in the Priesthood. There is only one man that holds the Priesthood." Brother Peay also told of hearing Joshua Jones of Provo tell of hearing Brigham Young say, "The time will come when this people are led onto the very brink of apostacy." Jones made an entry of it. The speech was made in the Old Bowery at Provo.
Learned through Lorin C. Woolley, that his father, John W. Woolley, attended the above meeting, and upon arriving home at Centerville he told Lorin and his mother of the incident.
