This week's guest audio excerpt is from a recent ProcureChange webinar on 'Applying Outsourcing Best Practices to Improve the Performance of your Internal Procurement Group.' In this event, ProcureChange founder Phil Ideson walked through ten best practices, but he focused in depth on three: putting formal statement's of work in place, investing in governance, and working through stakeholder level planning.
Fortunately for the webinar attendees, Ideson's governance is not the starched itchy collar you might be thinking of. It is a highly strategic, actionable part of the procurement program. The full webinar is available on YouTube here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ssFkr3LLti4&feature=youtu.be
This week's guest audio excerpt features Rita Gunther McGrath, the author of The End of Competitive Advantage. She was interviewed by CREW Network CEO Gail Ayers before speaking at their 2015 Network Convention and Marketplace.
The whole interview is only 10 minutes long, and covers a number of topics including advanced strategic planning, challenges for female executives in today's competitive climate, and how CEOs can manage their workloads through better priority setting. You can watch it on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LFREurlszMY
In the two minute excerpt I have selected to share, McGrath talks about the opportunities she sees in the marketplace and how leaders and companies can prepare to handle the changes they will usher in. For procurement, the trend that will have the greatest impact is what McGrath calls dematerialization.
On September 30, my guest will be Benjamin Macklowe of Macklowe Gallery. Ben joined the Gallery in 1994, was appointed Managing Director in 2002 and became its President in 2012. Under his leadership Macklowe Gallery has become the world’s most respected dealer of Antique and Estate Jewelry, French Art Nouveau decorative arts and the entire oeuvre of Louis Comfort Tiffany, increasing yearly sales from $4,000,000 in 1995 to over $15,000,000 in 2013. He has brought a client-centered approach to a field that has traditionally viewed the customer merely as an ill-informed source of revenue, and has sought to educate the collecting public through one-on-one interactions, personal appearances and gallery publications. Ben is a sought-after expert in his field and has served as a lecturer for museum groups and scholarly organizations throughout the nation. He has appeared on television to discuss Tiffany lamps with Martha Stewart, lectured on the art glass of Emile Gallé at the Taft Museum of Art and has taught about Art Nouveau jewelry at Christie’s auction house on multiple occasions. University programs in art and design are regular visitors to the gallery, bringing graduate-level students and their professors to hear Mr. Macklowe talk about Art Nouveau and see the gallery’s collection.
Ben is dedicated to upholding the highest integrity in his approach to business, and has established warm and mutually beneficial relationships with his peers in the field. He has helped expand the collections of The Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Dallas Museum and the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, selling important decorative works of art to each.

In this week's guest audio, BCG Consulting's Robert Tevelson offers up three ways procurement can drive value for the business. Tevelson has headed up BCG's procurement practice for the last ten years, and prior to that he was a Vice President at A.T. Kearney.
In this two-minute excerpt, we'll hear two lists of three. The first list of three is the trends or forces in the larger business climate that are driving the need for change in procurement. The second list of three is what procurement can do in response to these forces to make the most of the opportunities presented to us.

This week's guest audio takes on the topic of collaboration, including why it is becoming more prevalent than it has been in the past. The video this comes from – and which is available on YouTube, was produced by NEC Contracts, a provider of product and service contract frameworks used primarily by the Construction industry in the UK.
The conversation involves Peter Higgins, Chairman of the NEC panel, and Rob Gerrard, Secretary of the NEC Users' Group discussing how natural collaboration is when compared to other approaches.

With excess of 8 Million alleged Foreclosures, displacing nearly 20 plus Million families from their property as well as millions of lawsuits filed based upon defaulted worthless Debt. Our Society, Communities and Economy has become oppressed by defective, manipulated, fabricated paperwork used by debt collectors who sometimes purchase (alleged) evidence of debt for pennies on the dollar, only to then abuse Consumers with the assistance of the Legal Society and many times the Court.
THOR is a Consumer Advocate that serves the People/Consumers in educating them on the oppressive nature of the Debt Collection arena, and how to defend themselves, as well mount an Offense against these debt collection entities and those who are enablers of their abuses. THOR focus is not the alleged debt itself, but the Behavior and Conduct of these debt collectors and those attorneys who assist them, who by this very act becomes "debt collectors" as well. It is a known fact that these "debt collectors" have multiple support groups and organizations such as ACA and IACA, these are associations consisting of attorneys, national banks and debt collectors.
