Clerical Conversations on the Crisis X: Sports Builds Character? Part II
On this month's episode of Clerical Conversations on the Crisis, we will bring a second installment of last month's show theme Sports Builds Character? His Excellency and Father will respond to several question themes given to us by listeners, and then will continue to expound on their thoughts from last month's show. They will dig deeper into the modern understanding of sport and its place in today's society, and they also will examine forensically the fundamental problems with the Olympic Games. What relationship can Catholics have with sports in general, as well as active or passive participants? Why should we engage in sport to aid our physical well-being? What about children and organized sports? We will also dispel the internet rumors on St. Pius X's view of the olympic games, and finally why the proper understanding of the necessity of balance is so important.
Join us as His Excellency, Bishop Daniel Dolan and Father Anthony Cekada return with new show host Nicholas Wansbutter to discuss these timely topics on this month's Clerical Conversations on the Crisis.

Clerical Converations on the Crisis IX: Sports Builds Character? Part I
Restoration Radio presents its own version of a "Super Bowl Sunday," special: "Sports Builds Character?"
We have all heard this, but is it so, or is there more to it? In today's modern world, sports has been placed on a lofty pedestal of central importance in the lives of modern men. TV, radio, and internet provide 24/7 wall-to-wall coverage of everything imaginable related to sports and atheletes. Children idolize athletes and aspire from a young age to play sports, well into their adult years. Many view it as a way towards success in life. What is the Catholic view of sport, what is its place in our lives, and how are we as Catholics to view a society which is saturated in sports? Has sport taken on a religious context of its own, and are there religious parallels with what modern sports have become?
Join us as host Stephen Heiner discusses this looming giant of a topic with His Excellency, Bishop Daniel Dolan and Father Anthony Cekada of St. Gertrude the Great Catholic Church in Westchester, Ohio.

Eric and Jim tackle the question of what makes a great team. Is it the people? The skills? How they work together? Jim's post at LinkedIn sparked a debate on how the additive properties of workplaces create success, and that's something that is very hard to replicate.
The column is here.
I can't prove it, but I highly suspect this is how successful hiring works. Four great employees with one average employee that always orders lunch leads to greatness. If that average employee leaves, productivity drops forty percent as the team stops talking and starts going out to eat alone. Two great employees, two record keepers, and one lazy but likable bum who everyone has to cover leads to the next big thing, until the lazy bum is fired, and the lack of forced extra work causes the team to start missing deadlines.

The Best Ever You Show is honored to welcome Hay House author Alex Woodard.
Now with the release of his second book / album package in the “FOR THE SENDER” series Alex once again weaves his own story through those of others with heartfelt songs and prose, that highlight how true love may be found not in what we think or feel, but in what we do for each other. Based around letters from five ordinary people, each living extraordinary lives, ‘FOR THE SENDER Love Is (Not a Feeling)’ builds upon Alex’s first book, challenging the reader to join him on his journey of discovery as he navigates the next chapter in his life.
When he’s not surfing in his beach town north of San Diego, Alex lives with a big dog and an even bigger horse in the mountains of Idaho.
The second presentation in this series builds from the perspective of futurism and trans-humanism, areas of thought that focus on the pitfalls and possibilities that the future exponential trend in technological development could have in store for humanity. This presentation therefore hones in on what this trend and the technological approach to problem solving in general could produce were it to be applied to our social system holistically. These perspectives were represented at ZDAY London 2013 by the London futurists and Humanity plus.
To understand their perspective on these topics as well as helping to give a context to this presentation it is recommended to watch David Wood’s presentation at ZDAY London 2013 by clicking on the following link:
*Please note that the zeitgeist movement holds no allegiance to, nor agrees with any of the featured organizations points of view featured in this presentation series explicitly. Rather the purpose here is to use these perspectives to help illuminate some of the possible methods to help facilitate and illuminate the need to shift our values and economic system into alignment with our most up to date understandings of the natural world via the methods of science, thus increasing our overall adaptability to the planet and hence our evolutionary fitness overall.
As a lawyer, you’ve been taught, “the work speaks for itself,” as if clients will just find you in the vast sea of competition. The truth is, you’re running a business and you must find ways to distinguish and market yourself, to let prospective clients know you’re out there, to persuade them to give you a chance.
One of the most powerful tools you have at your fingertips is video.
Video builds know, like, and trust faster than just about anything else. And there is more good news: Few businesses – and even fewer lawyers – have exploited this proven medium. They think video isn’t for them, or they dislike the idea of being on-camera, or the technology seems overwhelming, or they think they don’t have the budget.
Over 20 years ago, “Speech & Media Trainer to the Stars,” Ruth Sherman, M.A., set out to fix that by using skills and training learned as a successful New York City performer to teach business professionals to perform on-stage and on-camera, what Ruth calls Platform and VideoCharisma.
Ruth is certain about two things: First, everyone has a unique Charisma (presence) and can uncover it, enabling them to eliminate barriers, connect deeply with audiences, and convert them into high-paying customers. Second, most people won't do what it takes, so if you do, you have a default competitive advantage. Instead of boring, you become a magnet.
Ruth’s clients include top global CEOs, Oscar-winning movie stars and international celebrities.
