this Wednesday night 10/1/14 at 8 pm I'll be chatting with David McGrath from the band IRELAND - Based out of Boston ,Mass.
Ireland the band..
Formed in the winter of 2013 with the idea of blending all phases of Irish music into a kick ass show.
One person was heard to have said it's like listening to the Wolfe tones jamming with the chieftains.
Irish music is all about the craic and the culture that is infused with every note that's played and sung.
When you attend our shows leave your troubles at the door and come on in.
Your sure to leave with a smile on your face!!!
Out of Ontario, Canada comes the MacKenzie Blues Band. Consisting of classically trained vocalist, Tara MacKenzie, guitarist Trevor MacKenzie, bassist Joel Dawson & drummer Mike Weir, they have just released their sophomore album Slam! Bam!, containing 12 originals. The band has traveled to Memphis for the IBC twice and we will discuss their careers and their music.
Generation Blues Experience is the joining of 14-year old Ray Goren, who has played guitar at the Chicago Blues Festival and with Buddy Guy and more. he was introduced to 80-year old bluesman, Jamie Bluesboy Powell and septuangenerian harpist Sammy Lee. The three were introduced a few years agao and their musical talents meshed, and Generation Blues Band was formed. We'll talk about how their music bridges the generational gap and where they hope to go in the near future.
Bob Corritore needs no introduction. Maybe an explanation as to why it has taken so long to bring Bob on the show; well I interviewed him for American Blues News a number of years ago, he has visited during my IBC shows and somehow,my brain turned that into him having appeared on a Monday show! When I realized my mistake, I reached out and Bob accepted. We'll look at how it all began some 40 years ago and then also chat with Bob about his take on the Blues World today as compared to when he was sharing the stage with the many legends who are no longer with us. We'll share some of the mus from Bob's latest, Taboo.
Finally, Sena Ehrhardt returns for COUCH KID NEW MUSIC for her new album, Live My Life. Sena originally sat on The Couch back in May 2013, so we will find out what the last year has brought to this wonderful artist.

This 5-piece features Nathan “Drake” Hunt on vocals, Josh Hamler on guitar, bassist Matt Fisher, Derrick Shipp on lead guitar and Joe Harrington on drums. Together, they have formulated their own unique mix of modern and classic rock with a southern twist that has energized fans across the nation. Shaman’s Harvest has successfully endured a long journey and cultivated a large national fan base. “Dragonfly,” from the album SHINE, truly showcased their unique ability to create a dynamic original sound. Their debut single from the critically acclaimed album landed on both the Billboard Active Rock (#13) and Heritage Rock (#9) charts and set the boys up to be one of the biggest truly independent rock bands of today. This brought on national tours with Adelitas Way, Puddle of Mudd, Black Stone Cherry, AC/DC, and not to mention the largest of national festivals. The band’s hard work and dedication to touring catapulted them into the spotlight and opened doors to many opportunities including professional sports teams, WWE wrestlers, and movie soundtracks using Shaman’s Harvest songs. Spending most of 2012 in the studio, Shaman’s Harvest continues to forge ahead with their Fifth full-length album titled “Smokin Hearts & Broken Guns” due for release late summer 2014 featuring “Dangerous” as the first single. Heliosaga- “Towers In The Distance” is the anticipated album rooted deep in European tradition, combining the best elements of power, symphonic, and gothic metal. Drawing comparisons from such bands as Xandria, Delain, and Leaves Eyes.
The name Heliosaga is a metaphor derived from helios, the Greek word for sun, and saga meaning the story/ history; thus, Heliosaga represents the journey of life.
“Towers In The Distance” lyrics are deeply personal, and the primary themes revolve around the state of the world, mortality and the personal struggles that all encounter. Mixed by Michael Hansen (Phonomik, Chainfist) at Phon Studio and mastered by Jacob Hansen (Epica, Volbeat) at Hansen Studios. Bass guitar tracks were recorded by Chad Novell (Fibonacci Sequence) and a guest guitar solo was performed by Gilbert Pot (Elegy).
Heliosaga was founded in 2010 by Damien Villarreal (keys/guitar) in San Antonio, Texas, soon after joined by Jordan Ames (drums). By September of 2010, the line-up was complete and the first practices were held. The ensuing year would see a five song demo, the first shows and various line-up changes. In 2012, Chelsea Knaack joined as lead vocalist and the band recorded the single “The Light of Ardor”, which was released in January 2013. Shortly before the recorded single was release, the band relocated to Minnesota and continued the writing process.
Erich from the The Uptown Band returns to talk about their sophomore album Heart, Soul, Body, & Mind featuring Will Lee, bassist from The Late Show with David Letterman’s CBS Orchestra, trumpet great and founding member of Tower of Power and East Bay Soul, Greg Adams, percussionist Doc Gibbs from The Emeril Live Show on the Food Network, drummer Curtis Harmon of Pieces of a Dream, and the CD’s Producer, bassist Bennie Sims of The Three Degrees.

Tonight, Pop Art Painter Jamie Roxx (www.JamieRoxx.us) welcomes The Antics, Post-punk/indie rock band out of New Jersey.
(click for) itunes
Luke Meisenbacher (vocals/guitar), Derek Rosengarth (guitar), Josh Reitan (drums) are the fun-loving men that make-up The Antics. “I don’t write music that sounds exactly like something else or things that don’t matter to me,” Meisenbacher said about his writing style. The Antics’ post-punk/indie-rock sound is often accented by 60’s pop, surf and garage rock – the group is certainly capable of it all. Playing their individual instruments from an early age, each member grew up in a different part of New Jersey yet the members manage to play like they've been together all their lives. The band has been growing together for three years, and through the trials and tribulations; their brotherly bond has allowed them to develop a unique sound that speaks to their vibrant personalities.
