What is Conservation?

Conservation biology is the scientific study of the nature and status of Earth's biodiversity with the aim of protecting species, their habitats, and ecosystems from excessive rates of extinction and the erosion of biotic interactions. It is an interdisciplinary subject drawing on sciences, economics, and the practice of natural resource management.
The conservation ethic is based on the findings of conservation biology.
During this show we will be discussing all forms of conservation and we welcome your comments/thoughts/suggestions.

In this weeks conservation series, we are looking at Monsanto:
It is a leading producer of genetically engineered(GE) seed and of the herbicide glyphosate. By the 1940s it was a major producer of plastics, including polystyrene and synthetic fibers. Notable achievements by Monsanto and its scientists as a chemical company included breakthrough research and being the first company to mass-produce light emitting diodes(LEDs).
Monsanto was among the first to genetically modify a plant cell, along with three academic teams and was among the first to conduct field trials of genetically modified crops.It remained one of the top 10 U.S. chemical companies until a process of mergers and spin-offs that focused the company on biotechnology.
Monsanto was a pioneer in applying the biotechnology industry model to agriculture. Monsanto's application of this model to agriculture, along with a growing movement to create a global, uniform system of plant breeders' rights came into direct conflict with customary practices of farmers to save, reuse, share and develop plant varieties.Monsanto's role in its history as a chemical company, have made Monsanto controversial.

Part Three of our Energy series, and this week we are looking at 'A Matter of Energy'
The third insight brings us into a new perspective concerning the visible world in which we live. While we have understood it to be primarily a material world. This is now being proven to not be the case. There is more space and energy than actual matter in all that we see. We are now beginning to discover an innate energy emanating from all life on earth and although we see what we believe to be physical, it is in actual fact an illusion. This is finally beginning to be recognized by the mainstream scientific community and a new understanding of the universe is gaining ascendancy. The possibilities available to us in this new universe are endless, as we come to terms with the fact that it is essentially pure energy that we can influence.

Advocates Protest
