Celtics Talk Radio episode 121 the easy stretch is gone a tough stretch begins

    in Sports

Since the last show the Celtics played 5 games. 4 which featured opponents who were not seated in one of the 16 playoff spots coming into the 5 game stretch. The Celtics welcomed the Nuggets then 2 nights later started a home and home series with the Orlando Magic playing in Boston then 2 nights later the Celtics were in Orlando. Then 2 nights after that game in Orlando the Celtics played the New York Knicks in New York which was the first night of a back to back which would see the Celtics play the Pistons the next night back at TD Garden in Boston. The Celtics began this stretch sitting in the 5th seed in the Eastern Conference right behind the Chicago Bulls for the 4th seed. So what did the Celtics do on what would be the last of their easy stretch that Daniel Camacho mentioned a month ago before the Celtics have to go at it with Lebron and the Cavs, Demarcus Cousins and the Kings and old friejds Paul Pierce, Doc Rivers and the LA Clippers. Are the Celtics still sitting the the 5th seed or did they manage to take advantage of the last easy stretch they got and rise up in the east. Or did they choke and fall down in the standings. Your Celtics Talk Crew will discuss that also whats the latest on the NBA Trade Deadline outlook for the Celtics with just 2 weeks exactly left before the Trade Deadline arrives. Jon Shames of HoopsHabit will be our guest for this show.

Celtics Talk Radio Episode 119 Celtics look to rise without Avery Bradley

    in Sports

The Celtics are in the midst of the easiest stretch of their schedule. Playing 32 games where 28 of the 32 they play they are favored. The Celtics have now played 8 of those 32 games. The Celtics first 3 games were against some of the weakest teams in the NBA in the Lakers, Nets (2 times). The next 5 saw them against teams with playoff hopes in the Pistons, Bulls, Grizzlies, Knicks and Pacers with the Bulls and Pacers game being Nationally Televised. On the last episode of Celtics Talk Radio. The Celtics had played the Lakers game as well as the first of a home and home series with the Nets and lost both games making them 0-2 to start the 32 game stretch. The Celtics had also lost starting shooting guard Avery Bradley to an injury. So now 6 games later whats the latest. Did the Celtics turn things around. If so what adjustments did Brad Stevens and the team make. Who did Brad Stevens elect to replace Avery Bradley in the starting lineup. Is Avery Bradley still out after 6 games or did he return and if so how does he look. The Celtics Talk Crew will discuss those topics as well as what damage did the Celtics manage to do in the Eastern Conference Standings having to face several teams in the playoff race with them. The Celtics will be joined by John Karalis of Redsarmy for this episode.

Goodbye 2015 part of the Celtics schedule. Hello to the 2016 part of the Celtics schedule. We are now officially in 2016 and the Celtics are in the middle of the stretch where they have several games that they should be considered the favorites to win. Since the last Celtics Talk Radio show the Celtics have played 6 games against teams they should be able to beat. They welcomed back to TD Garden Kevin Garnett when the Celtics took on the Minnesota Timberwolves. Since then the Celtics also took on the Hornets, Pistons, Knicks, Lakers and are now in the middle of a home and home series with the Brooklyn Nets. So whats the latest on how the team is looking. Are they doing what all the top teams usually do which is take advantage of the teams they should beat or are they blowing some easy games in this stretch. What's up with Marcus Smart. Is he back and looking alright or is his date being pushed back even more. Your Celtics Talk Crew will discuss all those stories when they are joined by Jamey Burke of Redsarmy.com

Celtics Talk Radio Episode 116 Where the Celtics stand after 1/4 of the season

    in Sports

The Celtics have now played 22 of their 82 regular season games for the 2015/16 season. The Celtics are right in the middle of a tough stretch of games where they have to face some of the NBA'S top teams. In the last week they have had to face off with the San Antonio Spurs and the Chicago Bulls. They now have the task of going at it with the defending champion Golden State Warriors and the Cleveland Cavaliers in the next week. The top teams in the West and East. Those 2 games will be the true measuring sticks as to how far the Celtics have come. The Celtics have been right in the thick of the playoff race all season long where do they stand now after 1/4 of a season? Have they risen in the standings to one of the top 4 spots in the Eastern Conference? Are they the leaders in the Atlantic Division or is it the Toronto Raptors or the New York Knicks who are in first place in the division?
