RTS Interview/ Promo for JK Ensley

    in Writing

Join Donna Wright tonight as she talks with featured author JK Ensley about her books and the upcoming Hummingbird Place Event, Romancing the Smokies.

K Ensley is a native Tennessean by way of Missouri, born there and quickly ushered down South. A product of public school and private college, she spent her early twenties bouncing across the country. Fascinated by rich culture, ancient customs, and thick accents, she is compelled to drink in the many exquisite differences humanity is gifted with. A self-described, happily divorced mother of three, she does little to hide her wicked wit, advanced sarcasm, and extreme shoe addiction.

JK currently has nine novels available and two more only weeks away from print. When recently asked to describe her A Dance with Destiny series, JK said…”A Dance with Destiny is kind of like… If Lord of the Rings and Legion had a baby girl and they enrolled her in Quentin Tarantino’s School for the Tragically Cursed where her teacher was Drizzit, she became best friends with Bleach, sat beside of Death Note, and ended up dating Black Butler… Then, yeah. That pretty much sums it up. It’s totally full of adventure and feels. So… Much… Feels.”

Even if you know nothing about the things she just mentioned, A Dance with Destiny is an amazing story full of love and loss, dreams and nightmares, friends and family. It will suck you in and spin you around until you hope it will never end.

“At the core of me, I’m one slightly twisted, pink haired, sword wielding, invisible ninja with a laptop, an imagination, and very little me time. That’s just who I am. I’m comfortable in my skin and I love my life. Totally not kidding about the hair, the swords, or the laptop. Although, I might have stretched it just a little with the invisible part.”

With names like "Skin So White," "White Perfect," and "White and Lovely," skin bleaching creams are becoming a popular -- and controversial -- part of many women's beauty routines. While skin lighteners may be used by different people for different reasons you won't find many products in the U.S. that blatantly promise to bleach or whiten skin. Some women and men are willing to do whatever it takes to achieve a lighter complexion. Chimein Monday Jan. 18, 9AM EST for an emotional look at skin bleaching.

Stop Child Abuse Now (SCAN) - 1258

    in Self Help

Tonight's special guest is Louise Cutshaw from Greeneville, Tennessee, Executive VP, volunteer and advocate at Incest Survivors United Voices Of America. Louise was abused all through her youth, and it started at the hands of her mother from the day she was born. "She is a narcissist," says Louise. "I was beaten, controlled, tortured, humiliated. By the time I was 4 I was lice ridden, covered in boils, starved. I could not talk properly. I had a huge stutter and a nervous cough." And things were going to become worse. "From the age of 4, till 18 years of age, my abuse continued at the hands of my mother and the man she married, the STEP-FATHER." He also included his depraved friends. The sexual abuse only stopped because he died. "I am a survivor who told, at the ages of 7, 9 and 12," Louise says. She told her mother, but that did no good as she was a silent bystander, and was well aware of the abuse. In fact, she reports, "My mother would beat and torture me daily. Several attempts were made at bath time to end my life with drowning me. She verbally abused me, cut all my hair off, poured bleach down my throat, and destroyed any identity I had." In her childhood and early adult life Louise did a lot of self harming, and there were several suicide attempts. "Can abuse be overcome?" she asks. "HELL YES.. We have a fight inside of us. We survived the most heinous crimes committed against us. Physically, mentally, sexually." And she concludes, "I stand no longer ashamed, no longer hidden, no longer silent."Originally from Great Britain, Louise is now a US resident. "I have the honor of being an advocate for Incest Survivors United Voices of America."

WORLD WIDE AFRICA THE VOICE OF THE PAN AFRICAN MOVEMENT

    in Politics

"The psychic distance between love and hate could be the mechanical difference between a smile and a sneer, or it could be the journey of a nervous impulse form the depths of one’s brain to the tip of one’s toe.  But this impulse in its path through North america nerves may, if it is honest, find the passage disputed: may find the leap form the fiber of hate to that of love too taxing on its meager store energy—and so the long trip back may never be completed, may end in reconnaissance, a compromises, and then a lie..... "

This myth of the creation of the white race, called “Yacub’s History’” is an inversion of the racial death-wish of American Negroes today.  Quite simply, many Negroes believe, as the principle of assimilation into white America implies, that the race problem in America cannot be settled until all traces of the black race are eliminated.  Toward this end, many Negroes loathe the very idea of two very dark Negroes mating.  The children, they say, will come out ugly. What they mean is that the children are sure to be black, and this is not desirable.  What they mean is that the children are sure to be black, and this is not desirable.  From the widespread use of cosmetics to bleach the black out of one’s skin and other concoctions to take Africa out of one’s hair, to the extreme, restored to by more  Negroes than one might wash to believe, of undergoing nose thinning and lip-clipping operations, the racial death-wish of american Negroes—Yacub’s goal—takes its terrible toll. What has been happening for the past four hundred years is that the white man, through his access to black women. has been pumping his and genes of the blacks—i.e., has been fulfilling Yacub’s plan and accelerating the Negroes on death-wish."
