    in Music

March is Women's History Month! Today's show highlights events celebrating Women's International Day & events in Second Life. First up, hear music from Women of the World & India.Arie.Throughout the week I checked out a few shows in Second Life: Seattle-based musician Tukso Okey at Sands Entertainment, Russell Eponym at Ce Soir. I also made it to Musician Melissa Ferrick's monthly gig and James Olmos's show on Concert Window. Since supporting Zap Mama's successful kickstarter campaign, I've been checking out other projects looking for funding. I found a few publishing campaigns that I just love on there. Of course, I'll share what's on the bestseller book list and what I'm reading this week. If you enjoy the show, follow me on twitter and BTR. Happy Listening!

Bridging The Generational Divide: Part 2

    in Business

Denise Griffitts Interviews global business adviser and the foremost authority on generational issues and workforce culture strategies Brad Szollose. Please listen to our first episode Bridging the Generational Divide: Part 1 here.

Author of the award-winning, international bestseller Liquid Leadership: From Woodstock to Wikipedia, Brad is a former C-level executive of a publicly traded company that he cofounded that went from entrepreneurial start-up to IPO in three years; the first Dot Com Agency to go public on NASDAQ. His company K2 Design, experienced 425% hyper-growth, due in part to a unique management style that won his company the Arthur Andersen NY Enterprise Award for Best Practices in Fostering Innovation. Brad works with companies like Dell, MasterCard Worldwide and BMW, helping them to Create High-Performance Organizations that include Millennials.

    Have Baby Boomers Been Betrayed?

Has anyone noticed that there is a generational divide these days? Well last month, our guest Brad Szollose really explained WHY Millennials act the way they do…if you haven’t listened to it, it was such an eye-opening podcast, I decided to bring Brad back for part 2.

The Millennial tech-savvy generation was raised on toys that interacted with them, a parent relationship that was more of an advisory role, and a school system that taught them there was no right and wrong. And that poses very real issues for business owners who employ them and Baby Boomers who are attempting to work side-by-side with them.

Getting to know author Samantha Chase, Delaney Diamond, Laura Browning

    in Writing

New York Times and USA Today Bestseller/contemporary romance writer Samantha Chase released her debut novel, Jordan's Return, in November 2011. Although she waited until she was in her 40's to publish for the first time, writing has been a lifelong passion. Her motivation to take that step was her students: teaching creative writing to elementary age students all the way up through high school and encouraging those students to follow their writing dreams gave Samantha the confidence to take that step as well. With twenty-three titles currently to her name, she has no plans to slow down.

Laura Browning after graduating from the University of Missouri School of Journalism, she worked for more than two decades in television news, both on camera and behind the scenes. It's a fascinating, exciting business. However, she always loved making up my own stories rather than reporting the stories of others. So, she changed gears and began teaching English. The altered pace allowed me to ramp up my love of writing fiction.

Delaney was born and raised in the U.S. Virgin Islands. She has been an avid reader for as long as she can remember,  She readher first romance novel at the age of 11. Back then, they weren’t nearly as racy as they are now.

She  wrote my first romance novel at the age of 14 and received rave reviews from my friends. She tapped out 89 pages on a typewriter and called it Captured Heart. Eighty-nine pages on a typewriter with no revisions. She couldn’t do that today. Thank goodness for Microsoft Word. In 2008 I started freelance writing, and in 2009 she gave fiction writing a try again, which resulted in my debut novel, The Arrangement.
